Hi guys

I got a rb20det r32 and I recently did an oil change to penrite HPR 15w60 which has been recommended by alot of the drifters here in my state, and my question is that I recently did it less than 300km ago and I check my dipstick and its gold all through it until the bottom of the dipstick where it is pure black..

When changing the oil I check the dipstick and it is clear and gold but there is a little bit at the bottom aswell now its just gone a bit higher. Is this something to worry about? Obviously there is still some dirty oil in motor/sump, but I made sure when I drained the oil that it was warm and also I jacked the car up from different angles so it will all pour out from the sump so there was nothing left..

Anyone got the same oil levels on their dipsticks? Should I be changing it again in another 5000km and use a different technique to change it? Any recommendations please

All Learning drifters should understand Small little things like the Machinery and How they rape it ...

Golds levels in oil on the dipstick what next? ....

If you could describe your Gold theory better Texture Carrot Etc ... we could tell if you have a blown head gasket or just totaly Nieve.....

i'm not a "learning" drifter for your information

i've just been told heaps of the "drifters" use it and rape their cars and have no problems

i'm just worried that when i change it, it still could have dirty oil floating around somewhere and not getting flushed out properly

when i check my dipstick the bottom tip looks filthy black and the rest is gold through the crossed bit till the top when it indicates it is full.

should i be worried about the tip of the dipstick where it is pure black is the question.

You've probably just got some sludge in it.. had the car been sitting there?..

Mine got changed.. by the time I got home it already had some carbon in it.. probably just doing what it's meant to do - suspend the crap in the bottom of the motor..

Unless it's milky, or watery.. or not feeling like it's still lubricating.. I wouldn't be too worried

he was asking a serious question.

i wouldn't be too worried, as links mentioned it's probably just some of the crap left in the bottom of the sump. Oil going black isn't usually a problem, that just means it's doing it's job. Mine takes about 2,000 kms to go black, then i change it at around 4-5,000kms (or sooner depending on how much drift i'm doing).

anyway, speaking of oil and drift, get an aftermarket oil pressure gauge, and keep an eye on it. stock r32 dash gauge can't be trusted.
