I have spent the better part of the afternoon searching but I have a few unanswered questions.

The vehicle is a later model R32. engine has been rebuilt with forged pistons, stock rods and HKS 2530's.

It currently has an OEM ECU, injectors, MAF's, and fuel pump.

I plan to fit a Power FC this coming week but before I tune it, just how far will the OEM gear take me?? I don't want to waste my time tuning it to find im limited to 220Kw by the injectors and pump. My over all aim for the vehicle is a reliable 290-300Kw however being budget concious at the moment is forcing me to make do with what I have.

Would I be to optomistic in saying 250Kw should be acheiveable with what I currently have?

If not what are peoples general thoughts or facts on what is realistic??

Im realativly new to the RB26 so it probably sounds like a silly question, if it was an SR20 id be on top of it :P

Thanks In advance Brad.

250kw at the wheels will be a cakewalk. 280 rwkw is about as far as I would go with stock injectors/pump/afm. BUT if you upgrade those 3 (sard 700cc injects/nismo pump/nismo AFMs) then 330kw++ is not out of the question with the turbos you have.

Thanks.

I was trying to steer clear of sard injectors, I was considering 600cc nismo's. Nismo MAF's, any variance to using the good old Z32??

Only reason I ask is I still have a few Z32's around from the S13 I had and thought Id either use them or perhaps go with a D-jetro and do away with them all together.

I have never been a big fan of MAP sensor tuning with the SR but from what I have researched people get some decent results with the RB26.

The temptation is there to splurge and make 300+ however I just want it to lap deep into the 8's around wakefield and ill be happy.

nothing wrong with the 700cc sards. plenty of people using them on RB26s with power FC with no problems. the only difference between the nismo maf and the VG30 maf is that the nismo maf is a standard RB26 size but with the electronics of a VG30. so you can keep your induction kit and piping and they look just like factory yet will read the same amount of airflow as a VG30 one.

laping a 68 sec lap of wakefield wont need much more power than 300 rwkw but you will need some good brakes, good tyres and good suspension plus a little bit of finese to pilot the thing around their that quickly.

I have done alot of research on this as well, as my power figure was around 300awkw, but focussed more on torque and low down power. My engine is still unopened so 300 was a good figure to ensure i get a little longer out of it before the wallet killing dreaded rebuild.

I have gone with the HKS GT-SS Turbos

Sard 700cc injectors

Bosch 044 Fuel pump that i will adapt into the tank

Standard AFM's

Power FC

And the rest.

I chose the GT-SS's for the simple fact that they respond like standard turbos, yet easily deliver 300awkw. They are more suited to my driving as well, as 90% is on the street and in the lower rev range.

The sard 700cc injectors were also an easy choice as they can supply the required fuel volumes easily and run without any drawbacks (such as bad idle, bad fuel consumption) when coupled with the power fc. I did the calcs and 550cc were adequate for 330awkw, but the 700cc's came up at a good price and allow more room if i ever decide to go bigger and faster! :D

The Bosch 044 fuel pump was chosen because it can adequately supply the required fuel at the top end without requiring it to be re-wired (standard wiring limits pump to 11.5-11.8v and significantly reduces the pumping volumes). By using the pump on the standard wiring, also ensures that excess fuel is not being cycled through the system, heating the fuel unnecessarily. These can also be adapted into the fuel tank with minimal mods (see DIY thread).

The AFM's were a concern for me as i was not sure which way to go. I was originally going to run two rb25 afm's as they would give sufficient meterage to cover the increased afm's, but ended up sticking with my original RB26 ones. After talking to Sydneykid, he let me know that the RB26 AFM's are more than adequate for my desired power level, as the key is that the fuel mapping can be also tuned off the rpm range once they max out. It is only when the AFM's max out before the turbos hit full boost that new afm's are required. (Rule of thumb is that this happens around 350awkw.)

Obviously a Power FC is required to run all of these aftermarket parts, and these can be purchased at really good prices due to the constant group buys and good deals you can find in the for sale threads. I am not sure how the D-jetro would go though as i have heard reports that the six throttle bodies on the RB26 can make it hard to tune the car for idle (but im only going off what i have heard from researching it myself).

Fast times would more come down to faster corner speeds and exit speeds though i would have thought, so such things as giving hicas the boot, better suspension (sydneykids kits or tein super streets), better tyres and well sorted brakes would give more of an advantage. A well sorted car in the handling aspects is always going to be hard to beat!!!!

Good luck with it all though!!

I bought the car with the turbos already fitted and the engine built so really it wasn't my desicsion. Im not a big fan of the parts used in the build myself but it came like this so ill work with it as much as I can. Im using it as a daily currently so I thought 300 would be a nice comfortable level. I will be tempted to turn the wick up latter on and fit cams so the 2530's may come into their own eventually.

Beer baron thanks for the clarification on the nismo MAF's they would seem like the sensible option and are actually reasonably priced which is a bonus.

Im no stranger to circuit work, It has willwoods front and rear, the entire undercarage is being re-bushed now as well as cusco coilovers and rosejointed arms throughout. Tires im running Advan AO48's and RE55's on the street.
