Out of curiosity I read somewhere that if you were to use longer rods and a custom piston to suit in an RB30 the engine would like to rev more due to a decrease in speed of the piston at the top of it travel and also a longer rod reduces the angle at which the piston pushes again the thrust side of the bore which I can see may reduce the chance of splitting a bore as I have heard is common in alot of HIPO RB30 engines.

I am interested to hear people's opinion on this
