I tried to remove my front motorised spoiler today to get my FMIC on and need to remove the reo to get to some of the obscurely placed nuts and bolts. On each side theres a bolt (which I could undo) and a another bolt sticking out from the chassis with a nut on the end.

I tried using a socket and spanner and both couldn't move the nut. I tried RP7 and still no luck.

Anyone got a sugestion on how I can get the sucker off?

Car is a 1993 R32 type M

Cheers

put the socket onto the bolt, then put a bit of bar over the handle of the socket wrench. this will give you extra leverage. you can also try hitting the nut with a hammer from all sides. this sometimes loosens them up.

I'm with mad082.

I usually try:

1. WD40/RP7 and leave it for a few hours.

2. Give the bolt a good knock with a hammer from different sides.

3. Place your socket and breaker bar on, the tap the end of the breaker bar with a rubber mallet.

4. Curse and swear

5. Rattle gun (make sure you use the special sockets designed for rattle guns or you crack your regular ones)(yes I learned the hard way )
