Crackling Brakes

After driving normally for about 30mins, all of a sudden i feel the front calipers started to make a crackling noise, which i can slightly feel on the pedal.

When the car is stopped you really have to step on the break pedal to hear it, but it sounds as if something has cracked....

Brakes were fine until today, im gonna pull the pads off and have a look tomorrow, but has anyone experienced this before? and why is it happening on both calipers all of a sudden?

put a light coating of graphite powder or a high-temp grease on the slide pins for the brake pads....

the noise should go away

So you think the noise is the pads sliding on the pins?

it sounds like it might be a possibility...

give it a try with the greasing up of the slide pins, if it goes away, then it was a cheap fix... if it doesn't, u know its not that

i had a similar noise (the same noise?) as what you're describing in my 32 and that's what it was.

ok... its not the pads.

you need to overhaul the caliper (seal kit) as the pistons are sticking in the caliper.

very common problem.
