Front Rim Clearance

Has anyone tried to run 8.5" wide 17" diam rims with a +40 offset on their GTSt?

I suspect they may need a spacer to clear the upper arm...or perhaps an aftermarket arm...either way ppl sexperience woudl b appreciated

hmmm, at a guess, offset sounds a bit high

I have 17x9's on the front of my gtst, and they are alright, but they have a lower offset, i'll try and find out exactly what when i get home from work if i have a chance.

anything more than 8inch wide on stock gtst front guards is often a challenge, there are only a couple of offsets that work

Too late now...now have 17x9.5 +38 for the rear and 17x8.5 +40 on the front. May need to get my rotor hats machined a few mm thicker so that the rim clears the upper arm, but it shoudl be ok on the guard side of things...i hope

They should have 11mm less clearance than my enkeis (which have no clearance) so i think you'll need spacers.

Up yours party pooper. Your rims are basically the same as my Weds, my rims clear but depending on the profile tyre i use theycan rub...but yeh my calc says 12mm less so...bugger. The price for wanting wide but lite rims
