Wheel Allignment And Hicas

Just a quick Q.

If my car need a wheel allignment, would it cause the HICAS light to come on in the dash?

i did a quick search but most causes was things like low fluid, blown fuse etc...

No it shouldn't.

most common causes of hicas light coming on, tend to be

-low power steering fluid

-fitted aftermarket steering wheel

Also doesnt the light come on when it goes into lock mode?

Thats what I got told from someone else a while ago?

it must just not like me then...

it appears to come on fairly randomly, but if i had to pick anything it would be accellerating from say 50 to highway speed quickly :S not too sure really, but the out of whack wheel allignment is more noticable 110kmh+

i havent checked the fluid since i topped it up last, bout a fortnight ago? so yer will check that...

if an aftermarket wheel is fitted what would meed to be done for the HICAS? i think it may have had the wheel changed and returned to stock to sell it... dunno...

it's your aftermarket steering wheel which will be causing the problem. The hicas uses steering angle sensor in stock steering wheel, most boss kits don't allow for this.

zyphon, lock mode???? what are you talking about? there is no such thing as lock mode. The light only comes on when there is a problem.

nah its got the stocka on it... it just might have had a aftermarket one and he return most of the car to stock to sell it...

ah, didn't read your post properly.

To be honest, my advise is, do yourself a favour and install a hicas lock bar. Much better!

Wheel allignment will not cause the light to come on.. also its strange 4 a W/A to cause a problem at high speeds and not at low speeds!

maby wheel ballence if steering wheel is shaking!
