Day ended with The Weasels white r32 spinning and hitting an s14 in the team drift

Ive just come from helping fix Naths R32, its all set for tommorrow now. He is so far in 2nd place, with only 3 points seperating him to first place which is a great result considering theres another day to go :D

I have heaps of pics to put up, but i could do with some sleep, so ill post them on Monday

LOL that was brutal...

Your laughing at an accident Alex? Are you a complete moron?

The accident was brought around by the lead car making a mistake.

I wonder if you would appreciate people laughing at you when you have an accident in your "R32".

I'll be there in the morning - once I get some sleep :D

I'e never seen drifting in the flash before (apart from some half hearted attempts during one of the prior Powercruises), so i'm looking forward this - should be good :nyaanyaa:

Where are the best vantage points for spectators?

Thought i recognised some of the Line's sitting in the carpark.

Didnt get a chance to go yesterday but i went today and i was awesome.

I told some of my mates id shout them but they slept in and turned up late so they missed out.

I must admit i like the stunt bike driver's, those guys have balls of solid rock to do some of the shit they do. But i think there might be an openning for some more chicks to get into drifting. Talked to Drift Cat while i was in the pits and there is definately room for more chicks.

Some one tell my how Nathan went cause i didnt stick around til the end .. had to go to work.

All in all a great day of what i saw.

Must say that I thoroughly enjoyed the day - watching these guys on TV doesn't really cut it after being out there and watching them go round in the flash. Awesome stuff

Always nice to see/meet a few SAU people out there as well (Ben, Steve, Shaun). Sorry we didn't hang round for too long with you guys - the better half was freezing and wanted to sit in the sun!

I didnt get to see any other SAU peoples other then Richard(Beer Baron) on sunday im disappointed  but had an awesome day all the same and got to catch up with a few old friends from SA.....

Good to see so many cars out there there and they all looked great... ;)

Fantastic day and cant wait for the next event in September we will be there with Bells On!!!! :)

The esky was keeping us warm >_<

What an interesting weekend though.

After helping Nathan with the repairs on his car (im not very useful i know, but everybit counts) i had struck a deal with him to borrow his trailer on Sunday so i could move my car to where it will live while the motor work is being done. I found Nath during the morning and checked which trailer was his, then found the keys for it (it was chained to the fence). Norm came with his XR8 to tow it, so we hook it up, and were on our way. After not even 5 mins we realised the jockey wheel had come off as we didnt spin the jockey assembly 90degrees by accident. So the wheel was sitting somewhere - i went back and found it, and yes, its rooted. So im up for a new wheel, no big deal. Then we decided to NOT use the trailer and drove it back to the parking space where Nath had been keeping it (we were 20 meters from the entrance to EC). So we went back and chained it up. The only damage was the jockey wheel not being on the trailer, the jockey assembly had NOT moved from its original spot on the V part of the trailer.

We locked it up to the fence, which was intact, and Norms tow truck mate had agreed to do the towing for me, so we went to meet him and do that.

When we arrived back at EC i went to find Nath and give him the key to the padlock for the trailer, he was quite upset at the state he found it in.

The jockey assembly had been pulled all the way down the V beam and was against the part of the trailer where the front of the car sits (its been dragged). The trailer was 3 weeks old, and there was a few big scratches on the paint where the assembly has been pulled along.

Now he doesnt seem to believe me (im not suprised) but i didnt cause this damage. When we locked it up it was missing the jockey wheel, thats it. And the place we locked it up was normal, no damage.

Here is what it looked like after Norm and i got back

Yes thats right, someone had tried to steal it from where it was, with a security guard 30 METERS directly in sight of it. This is the chain fence right next to the guard spot before the tunnel, where competitor cars are allowed, but no one else.

So, Nathans pissed off (as you would expect), and he thinks ive broken it due to the wheel breaking while i had it, i can see how he came to that conclusion, but it was NOT the case. I didnt wreck the fence, or scrape the jockey assembly. I broke the wheel (cheap shit anyway) and had already made plans to get another one for him, i left the trailer intact.

Long story short, dont trust the security guards at EC, there was someone there ALL DAY and they didnt do anything about this.

Im paying the costs for a new jockey wheel, and assembly (as it was wrecked during the attempted theft), and the painting of it.

So if you have access to the competitor only area for your stuff, use it, the security guards are useless.

Just a thought- The guys who owned the trailer next to Nate's may have accidentaly hooked the wrong one to their car in the dark? >_<

Can't remember if it looked exactly the same or not.

was a good day, saw lots of skylines wasnt sure if it was u guys or not!

i have to say the commentator was a WANKER thought. i cant believe how biased he was towards to monaro and its wanker driver!!!! %^!#$$@%!#!^@%$!%@&@!!!!!!

I thought that aswel, but it was pretty different ;)

Unless they were in a rush.....or dopey

Agreed, that guy has to go

this reminds me....the only time I have heard of something being stolen from the pits at a track day was a drift meet. I guess among the great crowd it attracts a bad element as well.

Thats forked..Cant belive they would do this at an event out in the open (shyte security). There would,in any case, have been a loud noise being created while all this happened.

On another note i enjoyed myself watching from the sideline.I might even get my mug on TV>>hahahahaaa.

Hi,

thought ill add my 2cent in this and say how cool it was to go to a drift event...... went both days and it was interesting......

ive noticed no pics have been posted, neway Got pics if anyone interested in seeing them if not ill keep them to myself.....

    • Do not replace the power steering lines with this stuff. If it's anything like the Chase Bays stuff it will leak and be worse than stock. The reason why the reservoir is on the LH/passenger side of the car is because that's just where the reservoir was most convenient to fit. Don't overthink this stuff. The intake/cold side of the engine is pretty busy on these cars. And again, the hardpipe is designed to be a janky power steering cooler. In theory you can replace it with a real power steering cooler but that's really only for track use where boiling the fluid is a distinct possibility. Start with the low pressure lines feeding the pump from the reservoir. Make sure there isn't a bunch of junk in the reservoir filter. Be careful to not get ATF all over the engine bay. I hate dealing with ATF spills, you can clean it up and the slightest crevice will still release more oil that can still drip over time. You also want to inspect for leaks before you make a mess and can't tell what happened. Most likely you have a leak somewhere that is allowing fluid out and air in. Failing that it's allowing air in but not fluid out. Only place I can really see that happening is on the low pressure side because the pump will pull a slight vacuum to draw fluid in. Everything after the pump is high pressure or lower pressure, approaching atmospheric by the time it returns to the reservoir.
    • I did a skidpan night at SMSP this week, it was much cheaper than $350. But yeah, you need to slap an LSD in that thing.  I put an OS Giken in the 370Z and it's f**king MARVELOUS even compared to Nissan's viscous LSD. So you're saying it's free now that it's a housing estate? 😂
    • Nah, the car seems to run exactly as it did prior, in saying this it does "seem" to be better down low, like more eager to rev, but that may be 100% placebo effect from intake noise But, I'm not worried about it at all, in the end it is a fairly low compression NA engine that has a well shrouded intake,  if it is getting hotter IAT I cannot notice anything negative performance wise from the seat of my pants thrashing it about on the street or sitting in traffic, so meh, car now now makes induction noise so I'm happy
    • Do you have an IAT sensor? It's worth checking it to see. You may be suprised how little gap you actually need to flood your engine with hot air. (I tape up my airbox for a reason) :p
    • @KinkstaahKrinkle paint the "silver" alloy, not the red filter frame Engine bay heat won't be a issue worth worrying about as the silver alloy blocks it off on 3 sides, as for the top, the bonnet seals most of it and the big OEM CAI intake snorkel is still fitted in its original position  I will head into Clark's Rubber when I have some time to grab some pinch weld to tidy up the alloy after I paint it As for performance, I honestly wasn't expecting any, the only reason I got it is because the intake noise sounds cool to my old ears when I'm feeding it the beans Sometimes it's the silly things you do in in life that gives the most fun, and I do love anything that makes cool car noises In other news: I survived 4 nights at sea with Jackie not throwing me over board, holidays are continuing now as we are currently chilling at the Beachcomber in Toukley, after taking the coast roads from Sydney in the MX5, top down all the way, Toukley is where I spent a good deal of my youth holidaying during the summer months, there's lots of reminiscing going on,  and lots of beaches and old houses to visit Next on the list is to head to Batemans Bay for a few days, but we will take the Commodore out to stretch its legs, then Commodore hasn't really moved for months
