Was awesome to watch, I've got over 500 pics to sort through!

I've never seen so many big grins as when some of you had the one run where you got it to work pefectly.

Commiseration Peter, just proves that peer pressure is one of the most dangerous substances in the universe.

Well done Team. This was a superb event from just a spectating view without taking part. I watched each of the sessions on the skid pan in the morning and quite a few cars in the afternoon.

I was very impressed from cars going out with just tyres squeeling DECA style to actually getting the back end out, all within a couple of laps and then just perfecting that back end sliding. Really was superb to see the transformation. This went for all entrants that I saw.

Must also second the burger comment as I was next to James when he said "can you die from eating raw meat" with a might pink burger in his hand! :)

Well done to all organisers from SAU and the drift boys. :)

all modern day radiators are poor under high pressure, ive seen a new holden radiator let go, not that bad, but the end tank was destroyed

all thanks to cheap plastic moulded crap :)

good luck on getting it all fixed up pete ... let me know how much it costs, as im thinking about goin alluminuin on my car :)

I had a great day. Big thanks to all involved in running the day. Thanks to the instructors for all the great pointers. It was great learning from the people that really know all about drift and very easy to get on with.

I delaminated my first set of tyres!!! :)

Who was it that yelled "keep going" when Pete blew the radiator?

Poite got home in the Moscow taxi (despite an adventure in Wonga Park), his car travelled in VIP style with Citywide a bit later on.

Joel and Will from WRX took plenty of pix - should be up soon.

I have some though - will pop online tomorrow when I have a real computer to use - none of this Windows crap

Russell - fantastic effort yesterday, you certainly got it pretty well sorted :P

And re: BBQ - the guys did a tops effort considering 'someone' forgot to bring all the gear (blush) and the meat patties were frozen.

Tell any gourmet you paid only $4 for a sukiyaki (raw beef) burger, and they'll be jealous.

Great weekend!! Thanks to Chris, Pete, and other committee members for organising event. BIG thanks to all instructors for giving me a few helpful pointers.

But i am not ever going to have such a big night b4 an event. A 1.4ltr margaretta and half a slab of carrona's with only 4hrs of sleep is not the best way to prep b4 a technical driving event. :P

Had a ball but next time i plan to be more mentaly aware, preferably without the grogey hangover :)

My run of never making deca came true again. Finished doing everything and went to back the car out of the driveway on friday night to get it ready for the trailer. No electrics in the dash are working, no power windows, no 4wd etc. After 3 hours on friday night and around 20 fuses I gave up. I have spend about 2 days now trying to find the short with no luck so far. Hopefully next time.

the first event was awesome, second 1 wasnt working for most of our cars :), number 3 was good again.

wang burgers were noice, i had 2 :(

flower power was the best event by far ! I even got Haley to come passenger for that and she loved it. So much so that she can't wait for the next DECA so she can go passenger in all the runs.

event 5 on the wet area was good fun, pretty much ruined my tyres out there, so hopefully i have my 18's before deca, and use my current tyres as my shitters :)

Yeh, the tyre wear thing we will look into. Using the back area wet we thought would reduce it a lot.

But it seems to have not worked as best we planned, something for us to take away from it :)

The skid pan area though doesnt seem to eat tyres at all from what i saw. Unless your pushing it and spinning out/smoking them.

Is that how everyone else saw it?

Maybe SAU-Vic can look into some tyre arrangement for people on the day. I've already been thinking about it and have a number of ideas

I was one of the few that did it on their everyday tyres, when I should've bought some odd second handers and destroyed those....

its not like i have expensive tyres on my car atm anyway, but it still would have been a better idea to use second hand ones that I bought just for the drift event...

By the time deca comes i hope to have my 18's on the car, and i'll use my stockies on the rear as "track tyres", which will give me 2 sets to smoke :)

then when they're gone, i'll be buying 16" seconds for every other deca type event :)

yeah, the wet manouvering area chomped through Sam and Al's tyres nicely

i think its because the surface is more grippy..?

    • Hey guys. I have a 400R on its way to Australia from Japan currently and have a few questions I’m hoping others may be able to help with.   Wondering if anyone here has had any luck getting the Sat nav unit to work in Australia!? Assuming the Stereo is as simple as a band expanded and tv won’t work?  Seeing as they’re based off a Q50 which is Aus delivered is there any way to link that system to the nav? Nav modules and head unit are different part numbers and appear slightly different at the rear with plug ins etc. can I put my xtrail sd card into the rv37 and will that convert the maps or update to Australian? Has anyone got any advice here?     also has anyone fitted the factory remote start and Security system once it’s landed in Australia? I put an enquirey to Nissan Japan in via a third party, and they suggested it needs a Nissan Japan dealers device to setup and couldn’t guarantee if one here could do it or not. They can supply and I can physically fit it but to setup I would need a dealers device. Any information here would be appreciated also. I’ve seen one here with it fitted already prior to leaving Japan at a dealer/inporter, so clearly passes compliance and works when fitted Japan and doesn’t need changing here.      also, does the tyre inflation sensors work here? Does anything change with them when the vehicle arrives? Where are they actually situated? I’ve read they have batteries and they need to changing at times and seems like resetting involves the nav system?    any help here would be appreciated and any other aust specific information to help would be great. Looking forward to see what the current generation skyline is like and eager to see how many of the gadgets can be utilised here.  Thanks in advance 
    • Do need to take it with a pinch of salt. One of the adapter failures, they clearly had setup issues with the flywheel.  One of the slipping ones I spoke to and it was pretty clear the throwout was riding, rather than fix, just swapped to a new clutch.    These clutches are being put in anything from 5k offroad 4x4 beaters, GR yaris, 500hp commodores to 1200hp barra monsters. Bound to be some issues in some of them when they are not a simple bolt in affair due to the changes in height.    There is a lot going on in this picture and unless I did the job myself no way to tell what really happened. 
    • I did this mod in 2019  You just have to modify the top bracket of the ABS/TC/Fuel Pump Control ECU so it sits more upright and closer to the back seat and run a good quality positive battery lead from the engine bay, the negative lead i just bolted down to the body in the boot.
    • Damn... Not the feedback I want to hear.
