Awsome Day Paul...

Thanks allot to the guys who took some photos...

I hope the official photographer (driving the yellow S15) got a shot of my 140kph drift... I did it just for him... :D

I had an absolute ball. Apart from loosing my brakes and boiling my power steering fluid, i have now got 3 new noises to chase on the weekend. Lucky me. I did however get some good drifting practice in and i spanked a number of mx5's and one AE86...

Very happy, need to upgrade a few bits before trying again tho. You dont need 300+ rwkw but you do need sticky tyres and good brake fluid, just ask Jason. Thanks again for the pictures guys hope to see a few more in the next coupke of days...

here's some of the better pics that i/my brother got...

sorry dude, i can't remember your username!

That would be Cameron... can't believe he didn't break anything! ;)

Was a great day - kinda wish I'd got myself sorted to take the 34 for strap.

Good to put a few faces to names too!

Thats me :-) It was a great day, cant wait for the next. Thanks to Paul for organising everything.

Paul does a very good job with these track days - it was very well organised, and his timing system which also gives a trap speed is probably the best system I've seen at any event I've done. I'll definitely be back.

Some very nice machinery there too! still drooling over the 34 V-spec!

QR really is hard on brakes. Mine were going off by the 3rd or 4th lap, so it looks like I'll be upgrading pads and fluid, and fitting some brake ducts - things i should have done before anyway really. Also must get my act together about getting some more semi slicks. Doing track days on the Federals is kinda fun (sliding around) and kinda frustrating (slow entry and mid corner speeds) at the same time.

Thanks J-Boy for the chance to get out there and have some fun.

Hi Guys,

I'm glad you all had a great time. It was a great day out. The volunteers did a fanstatic job of getting back the lost time due to the puddles in the morning. Everyone got their full contingent of laps. Top job guys !!

These photo's are excellent. If anyone has a set they want to send to me please do. I am working on getting my gallery up and running soon. The web site is now up as well www.TimeAttack.com.au and I will put all the results from yesterday up soon. Also thanks to everyone who bought a track day T-Shirt.

Thanks again for the support.

Paul

and a few more...

I almost got the Doctor in that R34 GT-R last time

If my car was dialed in and I had more experience under my belt I would of taken the day off to come ...

Looks like it was a great day out :O

Thank you Jason, I do like that one...

Hey Paul, who was the person who was driving the yellow S15 and taking all the photo's???

Where and when will we be able to see these photos...?

Also nice to meet you "nate79" and was great to see "pear" and "rhinorebal" come out and support SAU...

Thanks to "rhinorebal" for the extra tag on my windscreen... :(

The guys who were out taking the photo's are sending me an email once they are up, I will then let you guys know.

Dave, you will be happy to know we have twisted the arm of the T-Shirt guy and are getting 3 in XXXL in black and white !!!!

I will also get the hall of fame updated soon.

It was good to see so many SAU guys and meet some more people.

Paul

Cool thanks Paul...

I can't wait til the next one, ill be sitting on the edge of my seat for the time results and photos?

Im good to help out again as i had a ball for both the morning and afternoon session...

Hopefully we can get a few more SAU members/users out for the next session...

When's the next one? If its december sometime i mite get out there, wont hold my breath though

blue R34 v-spec, steve (baboo) from here owns that, am very interested to hear how he found how the GT-RS's went! i was lucky enough to be given a guided tour of it by one of his mechanics, mental car, absolutely mental!

It was a great day!! Bit disappointed with the clubman timings though but ill be back faster in November! Need more camber and suspension adjustments...LoL...was great to meet people from SAU that ive never met before like pear, harry, peter, steve and everyone else who said hello~

Steve..yer r34 vspec is hot! I love those endless brakes~~wish i had bigger brakes!! No problem Harry, it was great to meet ya and yeah i hope to see ya there next time out there again or at other events~

Thanx Paul for another great track day and everyone there who made such a fantastic day out there possible!

    • Oh yeah forgot to also mention need to also unplug the IACV as well. Thanks for the reminder @MBS206 Unplugging the TPS takes it out of closed loop so you're able to screw down the IACV without the ECU trying to add/subtract timing to maintain the idle (not sure PowerFC can even do this, but Nistune and the OEM definitely does)
    • For sale is my 1999 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-T, tuned to 234 kW / 313 hp. I've had the car for a few years as my daily driver. The car is original (as far as Skylines go), with only a few minor upgrades to enhance performance and driving experience, as typical for such a car of its age. Overall, it is in great condition with no body rust, thanks to its earlier import date. It features a top-notch security system (not literally, but it's great!) with remote start and still functional 4-wheel steering via HICAS. It comes with several performance and handling upgrades, including:     Hypergear 450HP Turbocharger running 17 PSI boost, installed mid-2021 by Jaustech     550cc injectors     Nistune ECU     Front-Mount Return-Flow Intercooler     X-Force Stainless Steel Exhaust     Upgraded engine mounts     Bottom end bearings replaced     BC Coilovers     Lenso DR1 rims     Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE003 TL 245/40R18 97W tires, fitted early 2023 The interior is mostly stock, with a few additions:     Viper Satellite Tracking System with remote start     Bluetooth Double-Din Touchscreen Head Unit     Steering wheel cover Cons:     A few paint imperfections here and there     Driver’s seat shows more wear than the others. It's not torn at all, but I've added a seat cover to protect its condition. I also have a CarVX Vehicle History report available for serious buyers, so you don’t need to purchase it yourself. Price: $26,000 ONO.
    • I've had two suzukis in the past have an extremely hard time turning over and not starting after sitting for a few weeks. Ended up the alternator would seize up causing the starter to force. Same issue both times.  Maybe they're sourcing their alternators from the same place...
    • Ah right. Maybe my rb just loves chewing through batteries lol.
    • On the R34 can't you just unplug the IACV? This is the way I've always done it on the R33. Disconnect IACV, get it idling around 650rpm, and then do a power reset on the ECU to get it to relearn idle (factory ECU).   The big reason no one has touched on as to why you'd want to get the base idle right, is that it means the computer needs to make smaller adjustments to get a good idle at 700-750rpm.   Also, cleaning the IACV won't normally make the car suddenly idle lower or higher. The main issue with the IACV gumming up is that the valve sticks. This means the inputs the ECU gives, aren't translating to changes in air flow. This can cause idle choppy ness as the ECU is now needing to give a lot of input to get movement, but then it moves too far, and then has to do the same in reverse, and it can mean the ECU can't catch stalls quickly either.
