hi guys..

I just purchased a turbo on the weekend off an RB25det.

my question is this..

the hose that goes from the wastegaste acutator diaphram.. where does it connect on the turbo?

On my standard RB20 turbo, it connects on the back of the compressor.

but I can't find where it is on the RB25 turbo.

Can anyone tell me?

or better yet, have a picture of it that they can point out?

thanks.

I wasn't implying that you didn't know your car.

I had never seen that before is all.

so it doesn't connect to the compressor at all?

it goes directly from your wastegate acutator diaphram all the way up to near the throttle body?

and say when you want to connect a Bleed valve... you splice that line and connect it in there?

The wastegate hose connects to the pipe that comes out of the intercooler and goes into the inlet of the motor.

The actual position of the tee off feed off of the pipe is where the pipe is cloest to the turbo, so the lenght of the pipe is about 4-5 inches long.

They use this methoud on the R33's so it gives better boost stability over different conditions. So the R33's are less prone to drop boost on a hot day etc.

This is cause it measures the preasure after the intercooler - well, this is the theory anyway !!!

the watse gate actuator hose runs directly to the boost solenoid, which is controlled by the ECU in the 33's. The 32's are not controlled by the ecu, maximum boost is controlled by the waste gate spring tension. If ytou just plumb that hose to the presurised side of the turbo you'll only get around 3 lbs boost, as this is the default for limp mode. The solenoid controls boost by interupting pressure from the manifold to the waste gate actuator.
