Hi all, just want to find out how badly will it affect the AFR if you decide to change the boost pressure after the car has been tuned? Mine was tuned at around 11 psi, will it do much damage if it was turned down to say 9psi?

I'm just thinking that I could leave it on 11 psi when driving around the street and turning it down a bit lower when hitting the track. Last track day, I left it as is for the whole day, but was a bit worried about the turbo's lifespan.

Much appreciated

If it is a standard computer that has been """"TUNED"""" lol just lower the boost whenever you like or you can use the most acurate tool of all that controls the throttle and thats your right foot :)

You can turn the boost down safely, but you can't safely run more boost as you don't know if the mapping is rich, lean, retarted or advanced.

Turning down is safe, the ecu uses the air flow meter/map sensor (depends on what system you have) and will reduce the fuel and change timing accordingly.

Just don't turn the boost up!

on an airflow meter ecu boost has zero to do with load and how it affects load axis placement. it is purely based around airflow meter load or airflow coming into the system. going from 12psi to 14psi on the stock turbo for example isnt likely to change anything as there wont be any more airflow increase, or least very minimal as the compressor is out of effiency.

more or less air will affect the load axis placement, thus adjust the final afr results
