4th Gear Problems

When i rush into 4th gear when reving out to 5-6 grand it will grind and crunch!!

sounds like a sincro problem, just wondering if ne one else has this problem...?

is it common with this box??

Got the same exact problem. Series II R33, 4th gear crunch at 5000rpm. Love to know if anyone knows whats going on.

yeah I've got an RB25 gearbox and it crunches in 4th. So did last car, an R31 coupe (RB20 box) Must be a common problem?

well its good to know thatr otgher people have the problem...

but does ne one know how to fix it???????

change the oil to better quality,,then over fill it threw gear lever with half litre slick 50 made mine better for a while and box felt way smoother

^^^Redline light weight shockproof (blue coloured oil) and overfill 0.5L as above, if that don't work...

...time to rebuild g'box or at very least replace 4th gear synchro...if the synchro is already screwed then there will be metal shavings throughout box already probably replace all bearings (~$200 for all of them) plus other synchros depending on budget
