I've got an R33 4 Door and I've bought a new steering wheel to replace the old one (it's worn out pretty badly). It doesn't have an airbag and doesn't have cruise control so I figured it should be an easy swap over.

Anyway, I've never changed one before so I thought I should ask a few questions before trying. First of all, what do I have to do to get the old one off? The new wheel has 6 small holes in a circle on the back. I'm assuming thats how it bolts on? The horn pad itself doesn't seem to come off, so I guess there's a way to do it all from behind?

Thanks

Thanks. I thought as much so I'll get onto that.

In regards to taking the old wheel off, can anyone guide me through it?

u prolly need to pull the horn cover off the old one and under there somewhere will be a nut which fastenes it to the steering shaft. u will most likely need a power drill or similar to take it off u can get ones that plug into ur cig lighter and do the job pretty well. then its basically bolt ur boss kit up n mount the wheels u will also prolly need to run for the horn one wire to ur new center buttin tab and then another to a ground somewhere but im sure u will work it out.

Not to flame but I still have nfi why people replace a steering with with an airbag to the one without?

He also said that it doesnt have one so that may be a reason...

You can pick up a steering wheel puller from supercheap auto or some place like that for like $20. Also make sure!!! that your wheels are super super straight otherwise when you drive of your wheel will be wonky and no one likes a wonky wheel
