Just bought electric oil temp gauge and the wiring diagram is in japanese and is rather confusing.

It is a Racetech oil temp 2":

3d_1_b.JPG

The wires coming out are

Red

Black

White

Green

Its obvious where the red (+ve) and black (-ve) go bout what about the other two?

The wires coming off the sensor are black and white.

Any help plz

Cheers

Ryan

I have the exact same problem, but with a couple of chrono gauges :(

I was told:

one will be constant positive (red)

one will be a switch to turn it on, ie. accessory line (one of the other 2)

one will be a switch to turn on the backlights, ie. a instrument light (one of the other 2)

one will be the ground (black)

as to which is which I have no idea, as to where to find the switch and backlight feeds the good old ciggy lighter and the light around it are a good place to start :) Will just have to fiddle around with which wire goes to what, if the gauge light comes on when the car is on but lights are of you hooked em up the wrong way round :(

green should be for the sensor, the white one should connect to the lights (so it dimms when you turn your lights on). thats how it is on mine. my gauges look similar.

best way to find out is to connect the black/red normally then tap the white and green wire to a known +ve to see if which one is for the dimmer.
