Hi just been wondering, would these HKS cams ( parts number 2202-RN126) suite a stock RB26dett??

it has the following specifications:

INLET 272 degrees, lift is 8.7 , step 1 cam( ss cam)

i thought the life is 9.15 on a RB26DETT?? do i need to change the springs??

sorry if this sounds dump.

cheers guys!

Why do you want 272's on a stock motor? They are designed for higher horsepower turbos running at higher rpm's than what you will be able to currently run (e.g GT-RS, T04Z etc).

The Tomei 260 degree poncams are the pick of the bunch for mildly modified engines (2530's, N1's etc) so would be ample for stock turbos. They are straight drop in, assuming your current shims arent worn to badly. If they are you will need to reshim the head at an average cost of $10 per shim.

i thought cams would improve my low-end torque as well as responce even at 12 psi?? wouldnt they?

more than likely not.

its a stock motor, you'd get as much of a gain from $150 cam gears as you would from $600 cams
