Unfortunately the passenger side mirror is cracked and the glass needs replacing. I've found a glass place that can do it, only problem is I have to remove it from the car...

I found three screws underneath and thought, 'great' too easy!!

Ha!!!

Its connected by wires to the main body...

Other option is to get a cardboard cut out of the shape of the mirror and they will cut to size, but I will have to fix it to the casing... I can't do that...have no idea how to remove the glass!!

Anyone know much about these things?

if its like the patrol i had to heat up the backing plate where the mirror is fitted to with a hair drier or a hot air gun.then the glass will come out and then heat it again when fitting new glass. it swells up a bit so the glass will fit in behind the lip when it cools down the lip shrinks and holds the glass in place.

To remove the mirror

- Remove door skin

- Remove black backing panel

- Remove 3 screws that hold mirror in

- Unplug mirror and pull away

To simply just remove the glass

- Push the glass to be to one extreme (point very very left or very very right)

- Stick your finger in under the glass, between the mirror and the glass

- Pull glass OUT of mirror body

It is held in by 2 plastic ball joints which will just pop out of the socket when you pull the glass. I've done it heaps of times, if its just replacing glass it should be easy as that.

***I hold no responsibility for any damages caused to your mirror. This information is based on my own personal experiances in cleaning/fixing my mirror that didnt fold in***
