Used R31

Hey guys,

I am in the process of buying a late 80's R31 (maybe a Sil) but have been told by quite a few people to check for rust damage. Just wondering where the common rust patches are and how to check? Eg; what are the warning signs etc..

A pillars

Chassis rail under the brake master cylinder if it's leaking

Taillights are known to leak

If the plugs in the boot wheel well/tools well are missing then water can get in there

If you're looking at a wagon the tailgate strut mounting points rust like buggery

and on silos the roof mounted antenna is prone to rust

also behind the froutn guards is a breeding ground! if you have one with no rust there you are lucky

Top of front and rear windscreens

In engine bay about level with A/c compressor, where the innner guard thing is welded to the rail.

I see you have an S60R, they are hot, love those brakes

Inside of bootlid (I just found some there) and the quarter panels, mine is on the drivers side down the bottem where the water goes
