Do you have a pop up screen at the top or the triple gauges? The DVD rom player was most likely for the gps...most likely useless in OZ..

looks like the same setup as in the V35 and unfortunately they are useless in australia as they are made by a company called XANAVI and they don't make maps of australia

the good news is that you might still be able to use the screen to play somethign else like a garmin GNV52 or a DVD player. do a search on the garmin unit, i have one and its a great piece of equipment

looks like a hole filler to me. (thats a later V35 nav unit by the look of it.)
