Forgive me for i am new and i dont know whether this is posted in the right spot, but i am looking at buying a skyline for $11000 i have looked around but dont know which skyline is the best, things i would like to know is what kind of fuel consumption do they have (are they fuel guzzlers, turbo & non turbo)

are they easy to get parts as the wreckers or something like that (instead of getting parts from japan)

I really much appreciate any help as i dont want to buy a lemon.

Thanks

Well,

1. For $11k you will have the exclusive option of a very stock R32 GTSt or GTS4 (GTS4 is the turbo 4WD). If you are willing to spend upto $17,000 you could look at all R32 and R33 Skylines with low to no mods.

2. Fuel consumption from the non GTR's is ok if the car is in stock form. 500kms from a tank on normal driving is not uncommon. If you are constantly giving it stick and are on the boost most of the time, expect half of that.

3. Nissan will stock what you need but at a hefty price, I have no experience with stock at wreckers but there is no shortage of after market parts for Skylines (Jap import).

11k would probably get you a mildly modified 32 gts-t....

or a bone stock 33, depending on where you look really. 33's are going way cheap at the moment. so wont be to hard to find one for the right price. just have to look.

and agreed, buying parts directly from nissan costs an arm and a leg.

remmber, u need cash left over for rego and insurance. if u goin full comp and u on ur P's ur look at no less than $1500. rego, add another $560. plus a bita spare cash for a service once u get the car...or anything u might need to do. if u've got 11k total, id be saving a couple more grand if i was u, and pik up a nice 32gts-t.

as far as parts go, thers plenty of wreckers u can pik bits and pieces up from, just be careful what parts u have to go searching for, cause some parts are harder to find than u think.

good luck.

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
