got mine yesterday...

didn't come by registered though just normal post.. not that i care because it arrived :D

having it installed friday hopefully...

will let eveyone know a comparison to how it was with the 3" bellmouth previously

got mine on last night. lined up perfect thanks again mic. got a nice whistle note to the exhaust now and got an extra 1.1 psi boost increase when running 9 psi. used to peak at 8.8 now at 9.9 psi so be carefull if your running higher boost :D

got mine fitted today, sounds a lil louder than usual, thou i dont have a cat back yet...

The dude charged me 190 bucks, i think i was ripped off badly, oh well its on now, he had to add like another inch of pipe cause it wasnt fully connected up, so i donno how that works out... Neways still very happy with it and it looks great!

maybe coz you got a 4 door car, so the lenght of the exhaust should be longer?? to connect to the cat??

Hmm 190 seems ok.. If the bolts snapped off or something then they charge more. its basically all labour. Took me 3 hours or so.. Or i think it was 4..

But still need to take it out again and heat wrap it..

What do u guys use to heat wrap it?

I was just about to bring this up - have people done it or not?

went down to autobarn and they sell some - looked a little dodgy though and $20 for like ~5m. Is it really needed as Ill Ive heatwraped up id the larger of the spilt pipe all the way down to where the smaller pipe joins the bigger one.

So should I spend another 20 and get it all wrapped up?

yeh i think it is cause i got a 4 door, the length would be a tad longer... but yeh i suppose i have no complaints over the installation, better payin a lil more for it to be working fine than paying less for it to stuff up

Well depends if you need to heat wrap it..

Mine is touching the aircon pipe.. The aircon pipe contains gases. SO think about. The pipe touch the aircon pipe in summer with high temps for long periods of time. Sooner or later its just gonna melt that pipe or make a hole. I will leave the rest to your imagination.

But if your wastegate pipe (the smaller pipe) doesnt touch the aircon pipe then it should be fine i guess..

Should be about 50 bucks for a decent quailty one tho.. Any exhaust shops should have them.

Im gonna heat wrap mine up b4 summer really hits. So most likley mid sept. Or i might have to relocate that air-con pipe.

Keep you posted i guess when i get mine done.

Got mine fitted today, car is alot more responsive to say and the topend has picked up quite abit too.

Just wondering though: did anybody else have their wastegate split pipe VERY close to the gearbox? Mine is actually TOUCHING at the moment but the dump flange lines up with the turbine perfectly. Theres no rattles and bangs when driving at all, but I'm still abit paranoid - can anybody confirm this is ok? Michael?

Thanks,

Andy

got mine fitted yesterday

previously i had the 3" bellmouth and ran 14psi to make 155rwkw

with the 3" split, i ran 13psi to make 170rwkw

that's 15rwkw at 1psi less! dyno graphs to prove if anyone needs...

oh, and the split pipe runs on the opposite side to the gearbox on the rb20.. mine almost touches some aircon lines but they are insulated so its all ok..

OnGsTa,

Check the pipe to see if it has any indentations at the point that its touching. it will most likely not be a problem because the R34 dump & front pipe is bolted not only at the turbo flange but also has a bracket that that gets bolted to the car just before the cat, so there will be no movement/friction against the box.

WazR32GTSt,

Thats a great difference! Thank you for sharing that information
