=premo=
have an R32 gts-t and i need to know ASAP what voltage/signal is sent to the ecu to trigger the speed cut at 180km/h. thank you Daniel Edited July 28, 2006 by =premo= Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/127907-what-voltagesignal-required-to-activate-speed-cut/ Share on other sites
=premo=
think its wire 53 on the ecu. does it just ground or is it a certain voltage???? =premo=
only way for me to test this would be to drive at 185km/h with a multi meter in ma hand. dun sound like fun to me. kjb_r33
I think that you will find the signal going to the ECU pin 53 from the speedo is actually a square wave pulse. =premo=
so how would i duplicate this square wave pulse??? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/127907-what-voltagesignal-required-to-activate-speed-cut/#findComment-2369859 Share on other sites
jantolis
With a square wave generator i'm guessing. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/127907-what-voltagesignal-required-to-activate-speed-cut/#findComment-2369934 Share on other sites
=premo=
i know little of what your on about but i take it i cant run a relay to earth it to make the speed cut kick in??? how would i make it so i have controll of the speed cut ? jantolis
I think you would need to measure exactly what is coming out. You would then need to replicate it using some electronic components that would produce the output you would be after. Is there something already out there does this that you might be able to buy????? edit: i just had a quick look and here is an IC that does square wave generation. http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?I...mp;SUBCATID=541 You could hook that up to a switch or relay of some sort so you can turn it on and off.. =premo=
Aim is to hook up my GPS/alarm so i can tell the car to turn on the speed cut if someone steals my car. thus they wont be able to accelerate but also shouldnt loose controll of the car or damage the car. Any ideas would help Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/127907-what-voltagesignal-required-to-activate-speed-cut/#findComment-2373162 Share on other sites

Any ideas would help interesting. maybe someone could make up or design some elect components to activate the speed cut at say 40kms/h if ur car is stolen....just an idea... =premo=
would be good, but so far no one can tell me if its even possible Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/127907-what-voltagesignal-required-to-activate-speed-cut/#findComment-2432052 Share on other sites
