*** Not meaning to cause embarrasment to anyone with this reply. ***

Moderators are generally top lads and perform their tasks with perfection ( decent suck-up?) >_<

As a general user you MUST respect the moderators.

Mods, honestly have a re-read of that thread ^^ some of the behaviour there 'wasn't right', in my personal opinion. However, thats just an observation from a meaningless twit (ie, me) :woot:

Please take note that I am NOT pointing the bone at anyone, just putting up 1 particular thread where Mods and General Users alike may have gone too far with their respective reply's.

However - keep up the good work!!!

Now, where's that ban? I can feel it coming................. lucky I have one-only "Get Out Of Ban Free" card. lol, joke.

*** Please, no disrespect for anyone in regards to the linked thread ***

Nows your time to come forward guys,

I had a reply from Blitzs

Yeah great move from a Admin, post has since been removed

I knew that was coming.

Come on now, you posted a thread linking to a Youtube movie of you doing burnouts in your garage?

I made an observation based on the silly movie I watched, thats not a flame

In future I suggest refraining from comments such as telling mods and admins to "wake the fcuk up"

Thats the lammest thing I've seen on this forum? was what you said.

So what mate, It was a quick film . I have a few members on my msn they all found it entertaining and said why not post it on sau.

Im doing my best to contribute "any" skyline realated material no matter if it is small .

Any flaming is stupid and pointless, we are all here for the same reason.

Silent, people are entitled to have an opinion.

The thread where Blitz said "lamest thread" had at least half a dozen other people saying exactly the same thing, but you aren't calling anyone else out on it.

Regardless of what you post, people will have an opinion.

Some may be good, some may be bad.

If everyone thinks and feels exactly the same way, the world would be a very boring place.

You seem to have a habit of starting threads, and the minute you notice a comment which isn't in line with your way of thinking, you blank out all your posts so that nobody else is able to make a judgement call on it.

You removed the content from the thread which you are making a complaint about, so nobody can check if it is in fact the "lamest thread ever" or if the 7 people who posted in the thread saying it was lame are all ganging up on you.

It's exactly the same situation with the thread you started in the wasteland, asking for peoples opinions on a re-make of a song.

I'm familiar with the content of this thread, because I saw the thread before you removed the link to the song, and had a chance to read what you posted.

A couple of people said they liked it, most people said they didn't like it.

Simply because the majority of people said they didn't like it, you cracked the sads and removed the content.

There's no real point complaining that moderators aren't doing their job because you didn't like the feedback that people left in your thread.

If moderators were to remove any negative posts when someone asks for opinions, wouldn't that defeat the purpose of asking for opinions in the first place?

it was a poostir which didnt help anyone...

went something like > who cares / Be grateful you have good moderation's and i think the genoral public can distigu-ish whats write or wrong.

cared for like 30 seconds. then thought F--- it

I removed the thread because "dan_the_man" spammed the shit out of it, about 4 pages of just shit.

100+ individual posts were removed from the music thread, it was dan who cleaned it up.

The thread was going quite well until you made the comment of:

If it wasnt for these guys* we wouldnt have our skylines.

*In reference to 19 year olds who were sent off by their countries to die in Vietnam during the war

I think people had a bit of trouble taking things seriously after you made that comment, and the thread went downhill fairly quickly.

Are you willing to accept a bit of personal responsibility as well?

When you make claims like that, you have to expect that people will be offended by it.

G'day Champ

Sorry you feel so hard done by. We did originally post our first thoughts on your song but you seemed to get upset pretty quickly when we didnt agree with you. I can understand your frustration as we did muck around in your thread after you got upset over nothing. Then pretty much the whole thing became a bit of a joke. As SKY031 said - I was the one who cleaned your thread up for you after you complained and only left the on topic comments in there. Which you obviously still didnt agree with so you went and deleted what you said so the thread was made pointless anyway. So it was removed.

I'm sorry if you've had problems in other threads I havent seen this myself so I cant comment. I think perhaps you need to stop taking things personally

All the best mate

Dan

Hang on... I have noticed so much mod bashing recently. You know the single most important thing I have learned from SAU? You cant please everybody.

Mods and Admins have the right to post whatever they want, providing it is within the rules that they are to uphold. That being said, if a mod or admin breaks the rules or has complaints made about him/her, then I will follow that up. But, heres the thing, SAU is extremely laid back! Bannings arn't given out commonly, you wont get banned for voicing your opinion (unless it intervenes with the rules and even then you will be given warnings before the ban stick comes down). I appreciate everybodies feedback and concerns, but at the end of the day I think the mods and admins do a great job on here and should be applauded!

Not sure if any of that made sense, I am doing a bunch of things at once.

And Dan. I love you man.

    • Hi guys, has anyone either purchased or built themselves a rotisserie for their car before? I can only just justify the need for one hence why I should just make one but at the same time, if I make one I can kiss another 4 weeks of potentially productive car working time goodbye because I'm building a bloody rotisserie....  I mainly want it for the application of the body deadener.  Cleaning the old stuff off, priming and then colour over the deadener doesn't worry me, it's just the application using the Schutz Gun that I feel would achieve a significantly better finish painting it side on and keeping the Schutz Gun upright.  I don't think they would work well on the side let alone almost upside down for some areas.  If the product I use (Terosun, etc) could work through a HVLP ok then it might be ok to apply without the rotisserie.   I can get one of these style ones for about $1200 which is pretty good value-     I reckon if I made one it would cost around $500 but it's more the time that it would take is more of a killer than the cost.  They look to hold their value pretty well second hand so I could always sell it after using it and realistically only lose $200-$300 at worst.  Or keep it and buy another project when this one finally sees the light of day... Anyone selling one...? Cheers!
    • While it is a very nice idea to put card style AFMs into the charge pipe (post intercooler, obviously), the position of the AFM and the recirc valve relative to each other starts to become something that you really have to consider. The situation: The stock AFM is located upstream the turbo, and the recirc valve return is located between the AFM and the turbo inlet, aimed at the turbo inlet, so that it flows away from and not through the AFM. Thus, once metered air is not metered again, neither flowing forwards, or backwards, when vented out of the charge pipe. When you put the AFM between the turbo outlet and the TB, there is a volume of pressurised charge pipe upstream of the AFM and there is a volume of pressurised pipe downstream of the AFM. When the recirc valve opens and vents the charge pipe, air is going to flow from both ends of the charge pipe towards the recirc valve. If the recirc valve is in the stock location, then the section between it and the TB doesn't really matter here - you're not going to try to put the AFM in that piece of pipe. But the AFM will likely be somewhere between the intercooler and the recirc valve, So the entire charge pipe volume from that position (upstream of the AFM, back through the intercooler, to the turbo outlet) is going to flow through the AFM, get registered as combustion air, cause the ECU to fuel for it, but get dumped out of the recirc valve and you will end up with a typical BOV related rich spike. So ideally you want to put the AFM as close to the TB as possible (so, just upstream of the crossover pipe, assuming that the stock crossover is still in use, or, just before the TB if an FFP is being used) and locate the recirc valve at the turbo outlet. Recirc valve at the turbo outlet is the new normal for things like EFRs anyway. In the even of a recirc valve opening dumping all the air in the charge pipe, pretty much all of it is going to go backwards, from the TB to the recirc valve near the turbo outlet. But only a small portion of it (that between the TB and the AFM) will pass through the AFM, and it will pass through going backwards. The card style AFMs are somewhat more immune to reading flow that passes through them in reverse than older AFMs are, so you should absolutely minimise the rich pulse behaviour associated with the unavoidable outcome of having both a recirc valve and an AFM in the charge pipe.
    • Yep, in my case as soon as I started hearing weird noises I backed off the tension until it sounded normal again. Delicate balance between enough tension to avoid that cold start slip and too much damaging things.
    • I'm almost at a point where I feel like changing the alternator. Need to check the stuff you mentioned first though.
