How Strong are the R33 GTS internals.

This has been discussed a while ago, but i think it was off topic in some thread. This thread would be well mated to the turbo converion thread.

Are the Gts internals, connecting rods, pistons, etc the same as the Turbo varient?

It would make sense from a manufaturing point to view to only make the one set of internals for the majority of the cars.

Obviously, there are difference, just have to look at the compression ratio.

What sort of power can the RB25DE hack before it spits the dummy?

I am not sure with specific in detail of the internal of RB25DE.

but internal is not same as turbo skylines RB25DET.

When I had my GTS-4, Internal was Strong and power chart(dyno) curves were near 45 degrees, no flawless (maybe bcuz of Access Blitz ECU).

I never had oil drop under the engine nor diff or any liquids, only liquids came out of car is Water from aircon.

and I tell you I was threshing my car, I mean threshed it! :(

but always serviced with top quality oils.

cheers

Joe

Well, as far as i can see, wacking a turbo onto the side of my 25DE engine, and running mild boost, say 4-6psi shoudlnt be all too harmful.

Yeh i thrash the daylights out of my car, go the synthetic oils !

Is the oil circulation the same, that would be an important issue.

factory turbo, cooler, intake and bov, exhaust manifold.

GTSLink ecu. Standard NA injectors.

an instant 30% more peak power and lots more pull especially midrange.

I'm actually about to get another 25t engine/box very soon. Thats definately the way to go i think if you guys are serious. More power more easily.

It will surely be interesting when i disect the N/A engine and see what damage, if there is any.

When you think about what it costs to buy all the parts and ecu etc to do the conversion, the same money will buy you a 25t engine/box/factory ecu no tuning etc required. Plus you could sell off some of your NA bits head etc - starts getting even cheaper.

I personally dont think the brakes need doing but if you can upgrade them cheaply go for it. Apparently the same brakes are still used on a neo 25t stagea.
