Hey guys, my front headlights are cracked and pretty dull and discoloured, i was wondering if you are able to just remove the plastic cover and buy a relplacement cover, instead of purchasing a whole headlight, i have tryed the cleaners but still look fair shit....lol. There are these small gold clips, do they connect the headlight cover?? can any1 tell me how this works?

Thanks Mike.

Well... my first car, a VK Commodore had the same kind of setup. The glass lens was held on by metal/brass kind of clips. I got them all off, cleaned in and out, then tried to put them back on.

The clips were so tight, that when I got to the third one, it snapped on hard and cracked the entire lens. From top to bottom.

Got a better one from the wreckers in the end. So if you try it, bear in mind that you run the risk of making them worse.

If the crack goes all the way through the glass, there is nothing you can do to repair it, as far as I know. If it's just surface marks, you might have to use a cut and polish or some sandpaper then polish.

OK, sound similiar, but mine are plastic, i think i might try nissan and jus get sum new plastic covers.....but you were saying that the covers do come of? also they do have thes bronze clips but mine come of really easy??

thanks mate.

the lights are sealed. if you want them to look new, you can search SAU for the threads on how to clean them, or you can buy new headlights at about $500 a piece....

they dont have plastic "covers" that you can take off and replace

Mothers plastic cleaner works a treat on these lights but you have to keep doing it otherwise they will continue to go yellow and ghost from the sun

I usually do it after everywash makes the lights look brand new.

Cheers

Chris
