That will depend on who complied the car, some times the use sikaflex to to stick it so you can't gat it off unless you break it.

Nissan standard glass just clips in there so you can just pull it off.

How do you normally pull the glass off? Just push the mirror to one side and put my finger under between the glass and mirror body to pull it off?

Yes just pull on it it should come with the backing plastic then if the mirror doesn't come in one piece, break it clean the sikaflex, fit the new glass and snapclip the assembly back in the mirror housing.

The reason some compliancers glue them in, is because the glass ( cut here in australia ) is smaller than the original and it will fall off.
