Well done :D They mentioned the owner was from Australia too... good on them.

Not really into Kei's but with those 'bargain mods' how much power did it make?

its making 80ps at 0.9bar boost.end of next month ill be fitting a bigger turbo which will give me around 100ps at 0.9bar.tossing up wether to get forged pistons too so i can run around 1.4 bar boost.at the moment its got massive midrange torque and great throttle response, the bigger turbo will shift all the power to the top end.4500ish to 8000rpm. The mechanic did a really good job tuning the E-manage.very smooth and very good response.a lot of the other kei tuners just go for maximum power but the response is very bad.

Rezz - i think you might have misread the articles title. Its "batsugun" not bargain

lol yeah misread it... stupid mistake.

I'm wondering what that Suzuki Cappucino was running to hit 242km/h (can't remember who modified it)? I've heard someone getting 200+hp from an F6A... doesn't sound like much but I can only imagine what it would be like to drive.

the mechanic that did my car has an alto with 250ps at 12000rpm.he's just developed a forged crankshaft and hes gonna try for 300 ps from 760cc

most of the race prepped keis here get around 150-200ps from either the f6a or k6a.

If he can get 300ps thats gotta be up there as one of the most powerful F6A's yeah? Gotta remind people reading this thread that 760cc refers to engine capacity not injector size

thats what hes shooting for.hes using the old k6a.the newer one like the one in my car with individual coil packs doesnt seem as good for insane power levels.its better suited for street use, much wider spread of power but not so much topend. 250 is the absolute max he can get from 660cc so hes upping it to 760cc

its a year old.shakken in 2 years.the e-manage will be ok.one of his customers even got his car passed without a cat.they really dont care about keis here when it comes to regulations.it only costs 30 000yen for shakken but from what ive heard its around 100 000 yen for a normal car.i also dont have a cat but fingers crossed i wont have to put the cat back on.

Yeah shaken for my HCR32 was around 100,000yen. Ever driven a Honda Z? I know they look more like a mini 4WD, but Honda factory turbo does have a ring to it... I've never seen any modded examples around, just the odd one in traffic.

Like I said I've never really been into Kei's, even after 5+ years in Japan never really bothered to check them out... although I did borrow a friends AT Suzuki Wagon R RR (with BOV) for a couple of days lol... but this has been pretty interesting. Thanks for the insight

nah.only driven suzuki kei cars.alto and cappuccino.oh man, u drove a wagonr rr auto?????ouch.

ive always liked little cars.and with the price of petrol now im kinda glad ive got a kei.even bouncing off the rev limiter in the mountains for a few hours i get around 11 litres/100kms.

    • Ah yes, but the part in my hand was actually painted and fitted by me! I knew any front lip was likely to be sacrificial but I've had to fix it twice already... by the time I buy a fibreglass fixing kit, sort out sandpaper blocks, buy some fibreglass filler, body bog, spend the time and effort for a 'Greg' result... a new one being $290 seems like it's the better way to go and spray that with bedliner/raptor coat and we're all pretty again.. Would have preferred it last more than a month though. Them's the breaks I suppose.
    • I find it funny that the USA is finding out all this really really weird stuff, and people from the USA are coming here treating it like gospel, yet, all the info on solving those issues is here on these forums for the last 15 odd years... Also, I know how much heat it takes to ignite the hood lining of an R33 skyline. I worked it out myself... It also took a LOT of time, and heat for it to do it... Big single, and I needed to drive the car, so retarded the timing off to "protect it". Yeah, that was a bad move for cruising on a freeway with only 15 degrees of timing on it. That was a lesson I learned around 2009. So that's over 15 odd years ago. Aligning water and oil, that's identical for any turbo engine, it's not Japanese specific. If a shop doesn't know how to make sure the core is rotated the right way, then they shouldn't be touching any turbo engine. That's not a matter of "We haven't had Skylines for that long here"...
    • Sounds like it is rotational in the driveline. CV? Tailshaft CB? Also.....didn't you just pay to have that bit painted and put on the car?
    • Yeah, when I dialled my idle down, given how much time I spent idling at the lights in traffic on my daily commute, the effect on overall fuel consumption was absolutely noticeable.
    • Emissions, fuel consumption, heat, noise, etc. most likely.
