Good point,

Creating a good name takes many years, and losing that name takes 4 to 5 reports on TV

But having said that an individuals driving attitudes all differ. He or she could have been driving a Ford etc.

Even my Maxima can take off and hit 100km's an hour in 7 to 8 seconds.

Just because the car has a sau sticker does not mean he/she does not respect the club.

Lets face it ,you have all seen a young girl in a hyundai going faster than you on the road with an attitude problem.Or even a Territory, X5 or any other speeder.I keep my distance from these drivers.

It is a shame we have to go slower than other people so they can respect us.

If the police are really interested in slowing the cars down they should look at technologies that

send info to the car in the designated areas which prevent the car from going any faster.

The police themselves have a need for speed.

So does that mean the officer driving the car should hold his head down in shame because he has stickers on his/her car that say police?

They are all hypocrites, they themselves pass me at great speeds and use their sirens to get through lights.

I am sure you have all witnessed these events before, and it was not an emergency either.

Lets take down registrations of speeding police cars you have seen and post them in another topic.

I bet it will fill in one day.

Just have a look at how many people speed around us and you will get my point.

Driver education my foot , whats teaching people advance driving skills going to do.It just means

they are more likely to speed because their confidence is higher.

So put this topic to bed because we all know what i have said is the truth.

Good-day to you all.

What does any of this have to do with a guy drag racing, in the wet, when there was obviously car(s) behind him, which just happened to be a cop car ?

lol. it may install more confidence but thats the point of it. some people, may use the advance driver training courses to do more stupid shit on the road, but in the event they lose it... they will know how to regain control of the car, hence preventing a +1 to the road toll.

So lets make it mandatory that all drivers learn how to drift :P

This will be fun because the girls with attitudes in their hyundai's decide they want to have a bit of :):D fun and kill a few people doing it, your crazy......

Advance Driver Training also incorporates Defensive Driving Techniques if I'm not mistaken - these are great when you have idiots like you on the road at the same time within close proximity!

in addition to that, driver training also educates people of the consequences and risks on the road.. it's not all about how to control a car you know, it's also about what can go wrong.

DRAG RACING? He is a speeder who likes to take off fast.....

If he was drag racing he would have hit 170kms an hour in 12 seconds.

Then he should have his licence taken away, what was he charged for anyway.

Taking off faster than the others?

Your crazy too.... :P

Good-day to you all.

So what your saying is people will speed no matter what they drive or who they are?

Wouldn't it be safer if all these speeding people actually knew how to control the car in an emergency situation?

Yes it worries me when the chick in the x5 tears off next to me at the lights and then punches the amber, whilst speeding, down the street... but I would feel a lot better if she had basic car control skills let alone advanced skills...

I think you joined the wrong car club...

Tekin i think possibly what JAR's point was along with allot of other members on the forums, that driver training involves teaching drivers to stop under emergency situations along with collision avoidance.. and things like this which we all know are things that your run of the mill driving instructor never teaches you..

I personally have done 1 of the driving courses and am keen to do many more.. as accidents do happen and any additional level of experience you can have in these kind of events is crucial..

im a pilot and i can tell you right now that the caliber of training that you receive to fly an aircraft out ways any amount of driving practice your general "L" driver gets with their parents or any given driving instructor...

They teach you everything from how to start the plane to what to do if you’re falling out of the sky in a spin... When i went for my first Solo flight, sure i was nervous as expected but i also had the confidence that the instructor that said to me your right to go was aware of my flying ability and hadn’t just been sitting in the back seat of the car with me for 5 to 10 mins max watching me drive at 50km/h watching me turn a few corners....

Thanks.....I know what training can cover from soft to hard.

My point is not to ban a member because they have the need for speed.

If we cant slow him with attitude correction, he is likely to be just another driver.

Shit we might as well give all our memberships back if we have not launched on the green light.

yah. exactly.

Fritter... I'll point you in the direction of a good club for you

CLICKY

lol. :sorcerer:

Exactly it's more referring to driver education and their attitude to driving fast and the consequences of their actions rather than teaching them to drift or drive through the apex of crns at 80km/h…
