I changed mine at my mates workshop about 4 weeks back, was charged for 3 litres. Not sure if he was just trying to charge me less because i was a mate or if thats realistic.

The oil change is simple really but I wouldnt want to do it without a hoist and a bottle of gearbox oil with a pump on it. All i did was hoist it up, drain the old fluid from the bottom plug. Then take the side plug off (this hole is the way you tell that the level of oil is right). Put the bottom plug back in. Stick hose in the end of the side hole, pump it in until the oil spills out of the side hole. Your gearbox is full.

If you dont have a hoist the process is pretty much the same, but you might have to pour the oil in from the top of the gearbox which means pouring it down the shifter hole. Which is a royal pain in the arse compared to the first method.
