One thing I've always been curious about is how people tint there tail lights, indicators etc. Is there a particular paint you can buy or a particular process you use use to tint/smoke lights or indicators? Or is it something that needs to be done professionally? In most cases I've looked at it almost looks like a dark clear paint has been spray over the top of it (or inside it?) to give it its finish.

Cheers,

Night Shades - available from supercheap etc, youll find it hidden on the shelves somewhere....

Illegal too, but looks good...

Best way, take the lights off put them side by side and do heaps of thin light coats untill you have desired darkness.....

My mate stuck a layer of gloss over them to and they look much better.,..

ive got a can of nightshades in my cupboard, along with some clear coat...

bought it with the intention to add a bit of tint to my rear indicators on my R33, but never got around to it....

should cost you about $14 for the can...look for the dude with the dark glasses on a silver/blue can with a black lid :D

    • Meh. Every single gear in my gearbox will crunch. I've been treating it nicely for >12 years now.
    • How fast are you doing the downshift? 4th gear was revised multiple times until 1998 to fix this issue. Synchro clips can fall out, synchros can wear. Most likely you're looking at a new transmission unfortunately. If you need to limp it until then double clutch downshifts into 4th.
    • Sorry I was being harsh there, but am I wrong? You can buy a M340i easily, and there's loads available second hand. A lot more workshops modifying them as well. How about getting parts for them? Don't get me wrong, I'd love a 400R, even a 4cyl (I looked at a few V36s before buying my shitbox BMW). Sadly Infiniti died in Aus and we're stuck with importing them as niche vehicles. Supply and demand
    • Probably straight swap for an R32 GT-R? lol
    • Yes I think we changed out the transmission fluid as I had a leak last year so we changed out the seals also. Need to check.    I should have said just change from 5th to 4th gear … down shift. There’s a grind.    I have a new clutch X clutch … but as I said all the changes in other gears are fine.
