i didn't do anything TOO bad and it wasn't until about 40 mins AFTER i had calmed down that i started hearing the clunking.

one of the mechs at hills said "shit, you've exploded the whole CV!" ...

common problem

you car have standar tyre

big alloys put alot more load on the front

generally break about 110k

you must have been launching hard

didnt you notice the veryloud clicking of the broken cv before it snapped

keep us informed on the price cause i noticed my front clicking the other day

200 for the rebuild

pete - it was the CV (thats part of the driveshaft eh?) so it was $300 for the part.

it broke because apparently that driveshaft was dry (ie no grease) at some stage in its life and was already worn, so it wasn't all my doing.
