VINS you want "fasted"

In that case, you may well still have the auto diff which means lower top speed but quicker acceleration. (like mine) :woot:

Need to try find a couple of R33 brochures I have and put on my magical japanese head for translating some of these questions. :/

Miguelone may be onto something...

Can anyone else break the code???

can someone do BNR34006208 + show optional extras

and can anyone tell me what the little x's mean in the model code GGJPRWY34Zxxxxx-x

The first x after the Z is not a D, which i haven't seen before on a r34 model code.

Thanks in advance

Can't help with decoding R34 model codes :/, had a quick look on the net and couldn't find any info unlike with 32's & 33's.

Edit: found something

The character after the Z is the destination, As far as I know the only place outside of Japan 34GTR's were sold was the UK and not very many. Could your R have come from the UK?

thanks mate.

I was looking through the workshop manual (thats where that model variation image is from) when i decided to check my model code and that extra Z caught my eye.

It could have come from the UK - anythings possible - i also think a few got sold in NZ too

i'll check out the uk site and see what i can come up with.

Thx mate not sure about the model code and what it means RNR32GASLMDB but it says engine RB20DT but it is a DET does that mean orig it wasn't tubo and was fitted later?

What does 4K and the HI . 4WD mean? Prod M/Y 9007 does that mean build date July 1990?

I really do appreciate you taking the time to look it up for me, thx heaps.

    • Sorry to sound thick....but what does the "faceplate" have to do with adjusting the odometer? Surely the odo stays put and you change the fascia. Surely they are not the same thing.
    • I know its been 13 years since this topic, but it came up when i was searching to fix my problem so thought i would add my 2cents in and how i fixed my issue.  my r33 had air coming out off all the vents except the center one. i went straight down the rabbit hole expecting it to be a mechanical issue, pulled the dash apart tracing lines, checking linkages etc. it turned out the very fine fly screen mesh behind the center vent was actually VERY blocked so when i had the air on face the air would take the path of least resistance and come out the 2 side vents but allow nothing out the center vent. a quick clean fixed the issue. once the mesh is clean you can see the air direction flaps moving inside through the mesh.
    • Glad that worked out for you. I think my Joyeauto one is coming this week but I won't get to install it til closer to end of October. Will update when I get around to it. Just standard CP and nothing else. Hopefully the cameras all work without needing to get out of CP and get back in as they advertised. My other worry is sound quality. Fingers crossed!
    • Yeah, it is possible. But like many related things (ie, alternators), it's getting harder to find anyone who does and will, given the change to just throwing shit away and replacing with new cheap shit from Chinese factories. If you want to pursue the option of rebuilding, you'll have to dig up an auto A/C specialist or three to find out whether they still do.
    • There are a few, but not that many. Also, there are no such rules when it comes to importing, just taxes and paperwork in general. The only rule I can think of is excise tax, which is 3.1% for cars with an engine under 2 liters and 18.6% over. About mods coming to the car, I've already bought Tein Flex Z coilovers and TE37s S Plus in diamond dark gunmetal (front 8.5" x 18" +35, rear 9.5" x 18" +22). Rims will be here in March. When the car arrives, I'll probably do a custom turboback and some exterior mods. I will keep you updated on my progress here! :)
