Is Pod Filter Illegal?

Hi,

Ill be taking my skyline over the pits to get it registered and one of the little things i think may pose a problem is the pod. Is it possible to cut a standard box over it to cover it up? Does anyone have a solution?

may? It's defectable, so borrow a friends box and snorkel.

car didnt come with standard box and ive only had the car for a week and a half so dont know many peeps with skylines yet.

if u have a cooler dont even waste ur time cause its not allowed but if u dont i'm pretty sure its ok 2have a pod

What state are you in?

Most people should be cool with it because in NSW a pod is not illegal. It is a noise concern so that's why you can get a defect for it but by itself is not illegal, I had mine with no box engineered.

its also a fire hazard. it needs to be incased. the dry or oil wet element is a potential fire safety hazard.

in qld my mate asked the hoon squad (these guys actually know what is legal and what isn't, unlike most normal cops) and they said that as long as it is mounted with a bracket then it is fine.

i had 2 mates get pulled over with pods, neither got booked for pods, but both got booked for atmo bovs, cutting the front bar when putting a front mount in, and 1 got done for having a steering wheel that was too small (must be atleast 350mm diameter, and can't be more than 1 inch smaller than stock)
