My mates RB20det Laurel is has been miss firing worse and worse for the last 3 weeks+. Now it won't start. We suspect it is the ignitor or associated wiring.

The igniotor was sitting unsecured, roasting on the cam covers, as the coil pack cover was removed.

Is there a way to test the ignitor pack with a multi-meter? And is it likely he has caused terminal damage using the car weeks after the miss firing started?

Going to try get onto this tomorrow. Any input appreciated :P

Cheers.

Cheers buddy but I actually mean the black box that sits on top of the coil pack cover.

I tested the coil packs on this car a month ago. Had to replace one with an R32 tpe pack as it's all I could find. (C33 etc are different to R32).y
