try using the search button mate, its been coverered many many times before.

I believe its been "covered" before, but not really 100% solved.

TV is easy enough, just get a portable (DC/battery powered) tv tuner that reads PAL signal and outputs to NTSC.

But apparently satnav is not possible to get working here because no maps are available for Australia, and the company has no plans to support Australia or convert the satnav to english.

I've got one of those units and if anyone finds out how to get the satnav working I also would like to know.

But as far as I know it cant be done. probably cheaper to just get an australian satnav system anyway.

Thanks for the link Andy, I obviously screwed up much search. DOH!

I have spoken to one guy in sydney who can do digital tv and satnav. I think he just replaces the tv and nav units but keeps the xanavi screen and controls.

I'll ring him and do a bit more ringing around, will let you know how I go. I thought a lot of the stagea owners with xanavi's would have converted them.

I don't think there's that many owners with the Xanavi units in their cars.

Stage Fright - I would be very interested to know who it is doing the work and how much they charge.

Digital TV is going to be best for the Xanavi screen because of the widescreen format.

I'll call him on monday and let you know how I go. Are you interested in including satnav, I would like to do a group buy if there's enough interest.

Yeah let us know how you go, I have one and would like to know what can be done, not stressed about TV but sat nav would be interesting.

Cheers

Luke

Yeah would be very interested in SatNav and preferably digital TV (Standard Definition).

With the SatNav I would also be interested to know what system it would be based on?

What maps would you use with it and how would you load the maps?

Given the Xanavi is touch screen, would the satnav component work through the screen?

Etc etc?

Would this guy also be able to flash the ROM's so we could convert them to English?

Would also like to be able to install a DVD Audio/Video head unit in place of the current HU (underneath the Xanavi display) and have it play DVD's to the screen. I don't know if this is possible as I haven't pulled out the Xanavi to see if it has a video input but it would be great.

Cheers Stage Fright!!

The screen needs to see a ntsc signal so unless the dvd headunit you get goes via a pal to ntsc converter it won't work, i am yet to buy a converter but i can play ntsc sony games on my ps2 thru it, and ntsc episodes of futurama i converted on my PC. hope that helps.

converted mine to digital TV, bit of an epic, through the VTR2 rca inputs on the tuner box in the boot, using a STRONG 12V digital box and an NTSC converter and tapping into the fatory aerials in the rear windows, note: these aerials have 12V amplifiers, small silver boxes, and only activated when in TV mode, not VTR mode, so they had to be given a 12V feed to get a good reception, worth it though. but would love to get the SATNAV working, keep me informed.
