cool, ill be there monday :) (gawd its an sau convention this week!)

there's also a bus on mahoneys rd that runs every 25mins or thereabouts.. route.. 560? which stops at keon park station. Goes between broadmeadows station <> greensborough station&shops.. so you could go shopping in greensborough also.

And you don't need to walk the length of Lipton Dr to get back to mahoneys, you can turn right down aylward ave :D

There is a place in Baysie thats a lot closer to ya Scott if you dont wanna travel out to Thomastown

I think the name of the place is TechSport or similar.

If you get the kit from the groupbuy and take it there, you shouldnt have an issue.

If i recall the do a massive amount of road/rally EVO's and that sorta thing.

yeah

go see Jeff Beaumont at Techsport

how did you guys go? PS there's a good pie/pastry shop on Mahoneys Rd that has bacon/egg rolls etc in the AM too.

On Saturday night I realised something was really wrong with the suspension.. I was almost in the gutter every time I hit a bump.. it had gotten incredibly worse over the course of a week.. luckily I was already booked in for a wheel alignment and got Chris to have a look on Monday.

Unfortunately the back right, sh1tty, 2nd hand, stock suspension I put in (not chris) to clear the defect was completely fux0red and leaking everywhere. Explains the stain on the driveway I noticed earlier in the week at least...

Chris managed to get new rear shocks in there and all sorted on Monday for a very reasonable price and it feels like new now

One good thing about Chris is that everytime I've had a problem, if he's had to fix/swap something, he always shows me the deteriorated part when I pick the car up, don't even need to ask...

hehe ya i went to the pie shop aswell... had like 3 of them, god there good pies

oh and yeah (got distracted by the thought of the pies) chris and his guys did a gr8 job installing all my suspension and telling me what it all does etc :D

    • I’d love to find some where that can recover the dashes to look brand new and original. Mine has a very slight bubble, nothing compared to some I’ve seen though
    • $170K. I asked one of the guys there as a joke if that price was just for the passenger seat as it was where the price sheet was... he tried really hard to crack a smile 😄 He also mentioned that every single part of the car was inspected and either restored or replaced with a new or as new part, or made from scratch. The interior was incredible, every inch like a new car.
    • Time for a modernisation, throw out the AFM, stock O2s, ECU into the e-waste bin. Rip out the cable throttle, IACV, pedal, etc. into the scrap metal bin. DBW, e-throttle, modern ECU, CANbus wideband, and the thing will drive better than when it left the factory.
    • I agree, don't go trusting those trims. As I said, first step is to put the logger away, and do the basics in diagnosis.   I spend plenty of time with data loggers. I also spend plenty of time teaching "technicians" why they need to stop using their data loggers, and learn real diagnostics.   The amount of data logs I play with would probably blow most people away. I don't just use it to diagnose. I log raw CAN data too, as a nice chunk of my job is reverse engineering what automotive manufacturers are doing.
    • I'm aware, but unless you're actually seeing the voltage the ECU is seeing and you're able to verify the sensors are actually working I find it hard to just trust STFT/LTFT. I will say, logging the ECU comes naturally to me because it's one of the lowest effort methods of diagnosis and I do similar things in my day job all the time. Staring at 20+ charts looking for something that isn't quite right isn't for everyone. NDS1 allows you to log almost everything so that's normally what I do and then sort out the data later.
