guys

got a brand new set of spritfires that I ordered from Nengun. I enned up buying some locally as I needed them in my car this week so now I have some in transit from Japan and I don't need them.

I paid $550 from Nengun and will sell them for $480 for local pickup in Melb ot 500 shipped.

Rememebr these are in transit and will arrive by mid next week - so yes brand new.

Get ur car running smooth. FYI the local ones cost about $200 more but I couldn't wait.

Do they only fit RB25?

What model are they? ie SF-DIS-???

Sorry to butt in..

They should be SF-DIS-001 ie. S1 Splitfire Coil Packs. (With ignitor pack on the rocket cover back end)

They should fit:

RB20DET

RB20DE

RB20DET

RB25DE

RB25DET (8/93-1/95)

RB25DE (8/93-1/95)

RB26DETT (8/89-11/94 & 1/95-12/98)

You need SF-DIS-005 if you have a S2 (or a RB without an ignitor pack on the rocket cover)

quickly off the point but does the series 1 fit the series 2 r33??

Yes but they will not work, series 1 has external igniter, series 2 has internal igniter.

No it means you have a series 1.5 GTSt, most 1995 models are so yeah you need the Series 2 coil packs that have the igniters in them!

    • This, honestly, is entirely BMW life. There's so many little things that once you know about you are either more relaxed or more uptight! 馃ぃ Fwiw (and slightly in my defence) our X5 has been flawless! The biggest issue we've had was problems with the front diff which ended up with a 2k rebuild but other than regular servicing with good oil and filters we've had no out of the ordinary costs or problems. it's been amazing and we've put 90k on it over about 5 years.  It's just the other two. The problem kids.
    • The more I think about it, the more I should probably go with a genuine Bride seat and rail set up. But damn the $$$ for a driver and passenger seat + rails!
    • From what I understand, stock internals should hold out for a while even if you run 500 at the crank, no? Especially if you don't run a modern turbo setup that reaches power and torque much earlier than the original twins. My engine isn't unopened either, it has N1 Pumps, head oil restrictor, new crank and cams, new piston rings, ARP head studs and Cometic headgasket along with 2860-5s. Considering everything is healthy this should run fine for a while I assume. Once my engine stops leaking shit everywhere, it'll be tuned to 370 crank first anyway, because I need to legalize the turbo setup. If I end up needing a new engine because my block actually has an issue, even though GTSboy was adamant that the whole porous block story is nonsense, before putting an engine in I'm probably gonna take care of the weakspots.
    • Hah, I have no issues with what you are doing whatsoever! You clearly know what you are getting yourself into. It's just funny reading things like this. "What's that noise?" "Oh, that's normal. That's just the engine not getting any oil. Nothing to worry about. It'll go away in a moment"
