The one thing that no one has seemed to mention throughout this thread is "why the hell would your tuner take your care to such extremes when he (or she) knows it is dangerous to the engine at that point"

330rwkw or hp; from a stock set of injectors... I'm no expert but I'm going to ASSUME that at this power your injectors would be at 99.99% duty cycle. The tuner would be able to see this if they were doing their job correctly; shouldn't they stop and warn you that your car could blow up?

When I got my car tuned (has pretty much everything except for injectors as well... the tuner stopped at the first instance and he warned that if he kept going for more power; I ran the risk of blowing up my motor. Even when I asked him if there were any other ways of doing it; he insisted that the session ended and I went away and got injectors.

I wonder who tuned this car and why they would keep pushing it despite the apparent risks.

I believe this was back when a certain workshop believed the wolf had superior fuel injection control and was able to flow more fuel through standard injectors vs say a powerfc using the same stock injectors. so the result was they kept trying to get more and more power on stock injectors and it went bang, like everyone said it would

hey guys sorry for late reply. i dont have the internet at home so im at work currently. will post dyno sheet up on weekend for u. YES the figures were extremely lean. over 13:1. It was done at hiu torque performance dyno day. i told him to watch the air fuel ratio coz i'd not had it dyno'd since after run in but the a/f's were way too lean. it run about 11psi then spikes to 15 at 5500rpm you'll see that in the gragh when i post it up. run was done bout 3pm in afternoon and was in 3rd gear. i havent changed injectors on it n its still running stock management(that i know of) although i dont have a speed cut anyway for some reason. theres always critics so i dont mind the critisism. anymore questions i'll be happy to answer

2 pages full of doughters and only reply is he has shitty boost control???????

and possibly the worst graph known to man, if thats what you wanted? .... short of that one in the KKR thread though, thats even better and it HAS an ECU

Although, the boost delivery is extremely interesting as its only got the same power as the stock turbo for what, 85% of the RPM range, it only peaks in the last bit, so essentially the car really isnt any better than stock at all.

I suspect thats to avoid the mid-range shutdown that most people get when a car ramps onto boost with the stocker ECU. Its simply making a peak figure.

Mid-range = nothing

Low-end = nothing

Extreme high end = power spike

Which is totally uncharacteristic of the GCG hi-flows.

I bet if taken to the strip, the car wont run a much better time than that with a stock turbo :)

Got any figures/graphs from any of the other cars that day? :O

yeah i know im trying to figure out the boost spike issue aswell. boost controller was all the way down, suppose to run 7psi but it cant hold it. was at hi torque dyno day bro im not making it up. why;s it so hard to beleive?

    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
