Dont really know about hidden.

I made a box up to suit the space then mounted it onto mdf behind the false wall. Works pretty good for my tastes.

Also heard of free-air style being done, but you need a sub that will handle free-air okay or it just sounds too muddy

This is mine

the answer is yes. it does fit.

some time back, hot 4s did a build up for an s13 or an s14 using an irregular shaped box with a 'beveled' angle so the sub faced the rear passenger boot corner. I think from memory they used a response 10" and made about 136dB. not bad at all for a 100% stealth install!

Ive got the 500 WRMS response 5 channel. theyre ****ing awesome for the price, particularly if compared with other dollar/wrms amps, sold at car stereo/budget home entertainment stores.

no audible clipping, and enough power that you can run gains fairly low and minimise distortion whilst maintaing good dynamic response.

the only critisism I might have is that they arent particularly efficient. be prepared for the need to buy a big battery that can deliver lots of current - or alternatively buy an altronics cap(they are also good and cheeep)

10 Fits very nicely, could almost squeeze a second ten in on the left if you bought the false wall out a little.

12 was a nightmare to fit in with a box as well, especially trying to design a box with the right sized enclosure for it. Just buy a good quality 10 if you want really really good bass
