Got my Peter Jackson Racing DR30 poster signed by Fred Gibson, drooled all over the Nissans (and a few A9X's if the truth be know;-)) got the Nissan shirt signed and throughly enjoyed the Skyline's in action. Top day!

yes, very good weekend. I'm knackered now.

It was great to see two Aussie Grp A GTRs together.

Crowd was massive! The only low point being some petty f**ker stole my friends mobile phone from our pit garage whilst we were racing. I would have like very much to have caught him in the act.

We had a very good weekend, with 2 class wins, 1 6th outright, 1 4th outright, then had a retirement whilst running in 3rd outright, and first in class by about 10 spots!

stole his phone? that is low man, those losers will end up having the pits closed off at these types of events for that very reason.

Well done in the placings richard!

and Scotty, you're a lucky man looking after those cars for the event!

yeah, there is a guy with a mini (Troy) who shared a garage with us. Whilst we were all out someone wandered in and pinched his phone. You are right, we will think twice about letting people in to look at the car (apart from those we know) which would be a big shame as lots of people come to these events partly to walk around the pits and check out all the cars up close.

so what happened to the car that caused the retirement? All I saw was the car blow some smoke and then pull over onto the side then get towed away.

Yeah there's always going to be some low life to ruin a perfectly good day.

So how many Red Bull's did Spencer drink before each race ?? Man was on a mission !!

hi Funky, I didn't know you were down! I would have got you to come down and say hello. The problem was the sandwhich plate for the oil cooler spat it's seal out :( Dropped some oil which caused massive smoke, luckily spencer was quick enough to shut it down before oil pressure dropped. Once it was towed back we found the problem, got it all reseated nicely, filled with all and then thanked god when it was all fine. The previous lap he had spun whilst running in 3rd as a Torana had retired in that same spot and left oil on the track which spencer hit and caused him to drop from 3rd to 6th. He was running in 5th (first in class) and only 2 corners from the end when he retired :/

no red bulls. we just do our usual prep of a few heinekens the night before, some bacon in the morning, and a nice lunch of bbq'd sausages, and the promise of more heinekens at the days end makes him move around the track much quicker. Plus I do gee him up a little before hand. lol

yeah, he was doing really well. Spencer is a pretty good steerer and we have come a long way with the car from it's humble beginnings and our nightmare debut which resulted in a clown in a 4wd smashing into the car in the pit area. Hard to believe that was only just 1 year ago and now we have a class leading car, and even challenging V8s, and 6s for outright honours. I'm very proud. and it's testament to Spencers skill as a mechanic and a driver.

Look after the cars ?? :( I'm just the lacky !! But yeah, I love to help out when I can.

Hooks ( 31GUN ) is the one who is does all the hard work and doesn't even get to see the races :/ But he's in it just so he can wear his flashy red jump suit :P

haha, yeah well shall call him 'race suit man' from now on. he does have the body for it.

I thought he was about to hop in the 32 and show us how it's done in the top 10 shoot-out style!

hi Funky, I didn't know you were down! I would have got you to come down and say hello.

lol me, slide and N1GTR were still pretty nackered from the night before so we hardly moved from our spot... we were in front of the starting grid, so when the incident happened it was right in front of us.

Yeah, sleep is for the weak :)

The Alfa looks really good out there, and the burnout/skid he did when lining up on the grid for the last race was nice too :)

Was that a poster of 2 DR30's that you told Fred you got off Ebay and he was drooling over ?

BTW, How nice a guy is Fred Gibson eh ?!?!? He was blown away by the crowd size and the attention the Nissan's were getting.

hehe, yes he was under strict instruction from me to get stuck into it on the warm-up lap as with the cooler temps in the arvo the tyres take a little while to get to our target pressure. nothing like a nice little burnout on your way to the second row of the grid! :)
