Hi People. Just asking the question as to whether or not it is normal for your

low beams (driving lights) to switch of when the high beams are activated, and

then when the high beams are switched of the low beams come back on. I have

since have the problem rectified, but this stumped the auto elec as he found no

items faulty ie switch was fine, fuses etc. Ended up running a relay from the high

beams to the low beams. :)

yeah this is normal dude, mine do it aswell, thinking about hooking them both up together.

nope, just how they are designed. mum's accord has high beams that come on in addition to the lows remaining on.

depending on how the headlights are designed there's little to be gained by having both sets on at once.

if i hold the switch on about half way i can get both high and low beam on at the same time. only real difference is that i can see the road that is normally lit up by the low beam better. makes no difference to long distance though. i think i'll leave it the way it is. let the alternator work a little bit less.
