Hi guys

I'll be changing my wheel bearings on the 33 tomorrow (front ones are shagged) and would like to know if I need to preload them to a set amount and, if so, what that might be? Eg do I have to preload them to (say) 100ft/lb or do I just do them up really hard?

I don't want to be replacing them again in 10,000km, particularly as they were really hard to find!

Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the delay - I've been without a computer for nearly a month and have only just got it back...

They were incredibly hard to get, the ONLY place that I found with them in stock was Moorooka Nissan (in Brisbane). From memory they were something like $100 for the two?? Can't remember. A small pointer though - get hold of a bearing press BEFORE you start this job. Getting the old bearings out, particularly if one of them is badly scorched, can be a right pain. What should have been a coupla-hour job tops turned into about four hours...
