Hey,

I am wanting to get some information about the Lenco 3 speed gearbox.

I'm struggling to find info about an adapter plate / bellhousing to suit an RB30 block. I also cannot find the power ratings for the box and would like to know if anyone can help me with this.

thanks

Is this an all out racing transmission? From what i know about lencos (and a quick searcg i did this seems to be the case)

Probably will be a custom bell housing/adapter ring, i would serioustly doubt that there would be something off the shelf, expecially as the RB is not so popular in the usa compared to its toyota counterpart for drag racing.

On power ratings

6 second passes good enough? if its the same box it will take anything.

Lenco's are not automatic transmissions.

*EDIT* Unless you are using a Lencodrive transmission which runs a torque converter (even then it's not an auto) but I'm guessing your RB30 isn't powering a 3500hp Pro-Modified car :P

Who put you onto this lenco idea?? Its stupid crazy overkill for a rb30!!! Esentially a 3 speed lenco is 3 gearboxes and is essentially an assisted shift manual. Even if you are running lets be ridiculous and say 1500hp out of a rb30, a dudenbear built or Al's or other top name brand from the states can build a th400 to handle that as its torque that kills the box and a 3 litre doesnt have as much torque as a 1500 8.6l chev, and they can make them to run on 1200hp chevelles etc!! Its a cheaper option, CMRS make adapters to suit rb series engines and parts for them are readily available.

Instead of about $20000 you would be looking at around 6g!!

20k?

I've seen complete rebuilt lenco 5 speeds with twin plate clutch, trans. blanket and bellhousing sell for $5,500 US.

I am definately NOT going for a powerglide option.

I am looking at a turbo 400 box too but just weighing my options up at the moment.
