At this stage im still goign to be doing it. BUT, i am now entered in Dutton so have to firstly get my car ready for that and make sure it doesnt break. 3 days of motorkhanas with two drivers...well im nto expecting the gearbox and clutch to survive:(

So it will be a matter of what else i bust

Geoff, if I had the spare $$$ to buy that 25/30 it would be sitting in Ray's shop right now.. either that or I'll build my own rb30 :P

Are you going to be SAU vic race team manager? If you read the supp regs it says no in-car telemetry is allowed! have to use placards from the pits.. old skool! :) what bollocks..

Local tyrepower had a set of dunlop SP9000's in 245/35/18's, 2nd hand for $50 each.. they're WELL above the indicators, so im really stoked @ that.... Ferni is going to give me his old 265/35/18's for the rear so that should be good also.

However if anyone has a line on some road tyres in 275/35/18 that are also pretty good, lemme know, as I go through them pretty easily so having them at home in the shed (got 12 acres in officer) is no big deal

North west tyres in reservior did not have anything worth spending any $$ on....

So is this still a go'er? Who and by when do we need to pay?

The last thing your car needs is more power...just keep driving the wheels off the thing and have fun doing it. When you are doign 1:22s then you may need more power

Dont get me wrong, I definitely can improve my driving skills... I just dont think a 1:22 at sandown is possible for my current power vs. weight of the car. I should be dropping about 10kilo's by summer tho :)

I never thought a 1.21 was possible in my car. But I kept pumping out laps and improved every visit. Lots to be said for feeling comfortable with your car and actually reaching the limits for a full lap.

Next time at Sandown i will be wearing a frock and screaming like a lunatic as i hope to have my car! As long as i go 0.1 sec faster then last time then ill be happy as the car won’t have any new/more mods. So if it goes quicker then i have improved a little...thats all i can hope for.

I have done a 1:58 at PI with pad knock off and under a yellow. So without the yellow im guessing the lap would have been a 1:52-53. With all the probs my car was having that day with popping fuses killing the ecu, everything. The yellow flag lap is as close to a clear lap i got. If Ferni and me hadn’t driven like tools when door to door with one another we both would have gone quicker again :D

So this event will be great to get more experience of the track and comfortable in the car. Even if im not allowed to go quicker then 1:55, next sprint day i should be comfortable enough in the car to go quicker then my previous best.

Not saying im a good driver...i know im a lot better then i use to be in my car as its been the same car now for over 3 years with no mods done to it. But the Sydney trip will be good as we will be able to swap cars and go for rides in one another’s cars. I always learn heaps when i drive other ppls cars or go for laps with them. Often i see where im doing things wrong from behind the steering wheel, or i see where their cars does something better then mine and i can improve. So the little bit of money I can spend on the car will be well spent as I think I know where its best spent based on seat time in another car

Sprint days make it harder to get a feel for these things. I hope that i can do a 1:22.9999 at Sandown. If i cant then im going to keep plugging away having fun trying to get there.

Very true Chris. I knocked 3.5 secs off my previous time with no rear brakes, and maybe 10rwkw's more??

I'd say a 1.23 is achievable with no more mods, just bigger nuts!

Bringing this thread back ontrack for a moment... Do they need a positive yes or no by a certain date, Is it still on (our team)? Who is committed and who is a maybe?

*raises hand* Im certainly an IN ;)

Just got back from Donnellans... got a set of 2x 2nd hand Continental Contact Sport 2's... $55 each.. bargain  woo hoo

    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything

    • What does it look like with highway driving? And yes, I had a similar thought as Duncan. It looks quite similar in my Stagea and I have made myself accept it as normal. Might have to look into it some day   Highway gets as low as 10l/100km on my end so I'm not as worried about it being a mechanical issue. More likely just the tune on the haltech.
