Not sure Al.. few people have dropped the Wolf in favour of other units in the performance threads.

Really, i have not come across these threads. Any reasons why? I still beleive the wolf is a great product with alot of potential. It is just that the tunning has not been done properly. When i first installed the wolf i paid for the tune (approx. $180, which i thought was too cheap for a initial tune. cheap=quick), but there was a software bug with the wolf relating to A/C. The unit was changed and upgraded by wolf, and then re-tunned free of charge. This is where i think the problem is, because it was free the tunner would not have taken the time to test all variables. I am now going to ask Steve, at AEM (wolf), who is thier most compitant tunner, as pay good money to do the job properly.

I told u the 210rwkw u got on that other dyno was a bit optimastic with the stock turbo!

but then there is no way one with stock stuff and just pod, zorst and 10psi can get 183rwkw, sumthings weird

I really was NOT bull5h1ttin you when i quoted this figure, as this is what i was told. The reason i beleived it, is that that my car made 183rwkw with just pod, full zorst, and 13psi. I have a chart to prove this, and that particular dyno was checked only a month before my run, by a rep. from Dyno Dynamics. So i assumed with fmic, cai, and ecu a 25rwkw gain was reasonable.

Anyway, on Tues. week the car is going on a new Dyno Dynamic dyno, with the stock wheels. To see if: a/ The rolling diamater makes a differance and; b/ Compare the graphs of the two ecu's (stock and wolf) i will let you know the results. In the meantime i am very keen to see how the car runs on Friday down the 1/4. I wouldn't mind running against that R33 that made the 183rwkw with minor mods, just to see what relavince the dyno has on the "street".

Al - Another thing I just noticed is your 33 is making peak power at 6400 where other are making their power at 7000 ish.... I think there's a fair bit more to be made up the top end...

Dave

Thanks. I do notice a differance in power/drivability between my 19"s and stockies. But hay, the 19"s look awesome in the R33's wheel arches. Next time the stockies are going back on for the dyno.

205rwkw was a bull5h1t figure quoted to me by the tunner. But he may have got confused with another burgundy r33. The dyno this guy tunes on does not have a printer, so i had to graph to back his statement. His statement was "The dyno he uses is only for tunning purposes, and he doesn't take note of peak power.

Even though i am not happy with peak power (which doesn't mean 5h1t on the road) the general power/torque/drivability has definately improved. Sam has stated that some fine tunning will produce better results, as the ecu is tunned rich to be extremely safe for the engine.

All components are running correctly, the car does goe hard. According to the wolf hand controller, at max load the injectors are running at 88%, eng. temp.=84-86C, the unit has a fuel pump warning light, and other features.

I'll have to have a look at that some time Al... sometime before the end of the year i'd like to get some type of replacement ECU myself to up my midrange and prep for a bigger turbo. I was leaning towards PowerFC but the Wolf is a good unit may be worth considering, and sounds like it has some useful features.

i had a quick squizz at your car when it was out the front, but 'course didn't get to get a look at the controller.

/oops - me looks back at what meggala said.. this allowed - it was talking about the day? :D
