Asked for a refund on the spot, guy said he would trade them for a set of Falken Zeix tyres for the same price (changing semi-slicks to shit road tyres, thats fair)

They get RS-V04s are shit cheap, and they sell them for pretty cheap too (I got 245/45 R17 from them for $180 a corner, and even then I probably overpaid).

Since they're not street legal in Australia, they can't really sell them for competition use where the regs say that the tyres have to be street legal. And your typical ricer won't want those tyres since they make too much noise when you drive on them so you have to turn the stereo up until it distorts, and don't come in 215/35 R19 for the chromies on their Mirages. And they don't last long enough, so they have to keep replacing them.

Which means they can have issues offloading them, since that only leaves weekend warriors doing amateur motorsport where the scrutineering and penalties are a lot more lax. And people like that are always short on cash.

Mind you, I'd rather eat a whole bunch of prunes and shit on my wheels rather than drive on Ziex tyres. So I'm not saying that its not completely f**ked up on their part, but just that if you were paying proper Comp-R semi slick prices (e.g. $300+ a corner on 17") you were getting ripped off even before they tried to bait and switch you.

If this rubbish excuse for service is so common, how do these guys still operate?? It defies logic.

Because the vast majority of their regular customers are discerning enough to care what kind of tyre they get, and make a fuss if they don't get what they asked for. Just so long as those boring black things prop up the gaudiest bits of badly chromed pig iron that adorn the shop window and kind of fit on their cars, the regular customers remain happy.

Quite aware of how shit and cheap the RS-V04's were and that I was probably paying too much, but at that time I didnt have a problem with any of that. My problem is the fact I paid for them and told they were in stock, drove 600kms round-trip to get them and they werent there. Then to try and replace them with Zeix's and say that they didnt have to provide a refund as Zeix were comparable tyres is a joke. Then get sworn at when I was adamant I wanted a refund... thats the part I have a problem with.

The details are above for you to act on, do it, it will be good to see someone have a go at them, they truly deserve it IMO

good work as always cowie. i always hate hearing about bad things happening to good people. there are several tpa clauses that come to mind, e.g. ss. 70, 72, parts of 74.

the standout in this case is s60. a particularly bright corp lawyer could then herd the defendant into doing something silly in s85.

but as with so many such actions (including the excerpt quote above) the key is establishing intention and, preferably, performance. before bringing any action i would think very carefully about the degree to which the defendant could establish these better than i could.

Hi Sig. I like s70. For s58 you'd have to prove intent however with s70 you can simply state, 'where are my RS-V04s?' and when they don't have them, take the refund without them bitching. Well that's how it is supposed to work

If anyone else is interested in the legal stuff, the TPA is here:

By the way, I'll remind my brother about s60. Cheers sig. For the guys playing at home:

Ummm... isn't that common sense anyway???

I bought a set of rims from there. I didnt find the staff to be rude, they just weren't particularily nice! I got a good price though - a few hundred cheaper than initially quoted. The balancing job was shocking though. I get vibration at 110km/h.

I went back to buy some wheel nuts and was short some cash, so I told him I'd have to go get some cash and he said nah dont worry about it and took $10 off the price (how much i was short).

Its such a shame that companies do so much business that they get complacent and start treating their customers badly. You see it in plenty of industries, not just automotive!

What was discribed in the first post should not be tolerated though, thats just plain wrong!

lmao XXXXX XXXXX is STILL $hit in the year 2012...

after reading so many horror stores regarding their incompetance and basic lack of customer service I still couldnt hold back and decided to give them a call , the tyres i wanted where so cheap.

Basically was shouted at on the phone , acted annoyed when I asked about the different sizes and when I asked him the total he told me "whatever all of them adds up to , i dont know..cant you add bro". My main reason for going there was because of the free balancing and fitting with tyres purchased , screw that , they seem to incompetant to even begin to do something like that.

Id rather not take the chance , pay a little more and go somewhere where I actually feel like a customer and know that my car is safe and the work done properly.

The amount of sales they make has completely gone to their head , if they cleaned up their act they would be among the best in the country but sadly they arent,

Yes I bumped an old thread to let all know that Xxxxx Xxxxx probably arent worth the few extra you are saving and wholly deserve the terrible rep they have.

Stay far far away.

Forum users CANNOT slander ANY business on the SAU forums.

I had a new set of tyres put on there, reasonable price and service etc.

Few weeks later after my car got smashed, the panel beater rang me and asked why one of the wheel nuts was somehow screwed on backwards.

They had to drill out the stud and replace that as well.

Won't be going back.

Would rather source and buy the tyres myself and just take the car to my local tyre shop. Only reason I didn't take my car there originally is they didn't have the tyres I was after.

This crowd supplies tyres to retailers all over this state via parallel buying.

Some brands can be extremely cheap: others not so.

Over the years, I've gleaned that tyre places at Guilford, Punchbowl, Marrickville source their wheels and tyres from *cough

Service and attitude can be woeful (- as in, "take it or leave it"); sometimes condescending too.

I'd rather use Luke_GTR here on SAU nowadays; or Sujit of Tyrepower Hornsby.

Get a group of lads, go sort em out

Wow, I had no idea the rep of this place was so poor.

The damage was relatively minor. It was a good scrape to the front right guard and headlight assembly. It'd be paint the panel and blend the door and bonnet.

It isn't the damage that was the problem, accidents happen. It was the shouting and obscene jeering from a large group of employees when my brother (who was there by himself - his wife and kids out shopping) wanted to consult his own panel beater before accepting the make good offer.

The senior employee working at the time was the one leading the group and it resulted in spitting, if that puts things into perspective. Being by yourself, you'd have to be bigger and meaner than Vin Diesel to have a leg to stand on.

Anyway, the thread was for me to share some appalling behavour by a business I thought SAUers used. Evidently, everyone here is already smarter and steer well clear...

I would not have backed down at all, i would have gotten my phone out and started to record everything, if they touched me would have suid them and taken everything from them, these ppl are dogs and should be put down accordingly, society is better off without them.

I've been here twice. Was when they were the only ones who sold ku36's for half price. For me, the service was good. When I pulled up (this was in my 33 gtr at the time) I was so worried about the bottom lip scrapping. 2 of the guys actually came out and helped me get up their ridiculous drive way. Gave me a coffee while waiting. Placed wood planks on their exit ramp and made sure I got out ok.

BUUUUTTTTT, I've had friends who have been here only because I gave this company a good wrap and I was appalled at their stories and very embarrassed. Needless to say, I found a different place to go to who have had consistent customer satisfaction.

Bought some 35" muddies from these guys for my hilux... they fitted and balanced them.

Mad vibrations at high speeds so I took it to another shop to get rebalanced.

They were out by 100g.... that is just ridiculous... its like they put the weights on the opposite side of where they should have been.

If you are looking for something in this area go to Taleb or Kogarah Tyrepower... 1000 times better.

Got KU31s fitted there. They treated me okay, as I knew exactly what I wanted. Walked in, asked for tyres, got them fitted next day

I made the mistake of getting my car aligned there though, threw everything out. Don't know what sort of damage they might have done to my wheels as it has rashes already.

Just go and pick up tyres from them, don't let them touch your car. Don't expect any other sort of service.
