Inner Tyre Wear Question?

Recommended Posts

My current rear tyres have now had it & looking into some new ones. I currently run Sumitomo HTR Z-II 17"*275*40.

Looking at the wear, the inner 70% of each tyre is worn more compared to the outer side.

I'm just wondering why this would be. Could it be the fact i have a locked diff & when turning / cornering the wear is forced into the inside?

Thanks,

:happy:

PS: Think I'm going to get some Ventus K104's 275/40ZR17Y

nothing wrong with camber :D, but it could also be incorrect toe.. you should definetely look at getting an alignment done, and make a habit of rotating your tires...and yeah they'll be able to adjust your camber and fix your toe as well. but if you're really tucking your rears, you might need a camber kit otherwise they won't have enough adjustment to really fix your camber angle.

Measure the ride height, centre of wheel to guard, that is a good indicator of excessive camber.

For the Group Buy camber kits, this is what is usually needed for each height increment, note that all measurements are centre of wheel to guard;

Standard (new) height is 380 mm front and 370 mm rear

360/350 mm needs only the standard rear camber adjusters

350/340 mm needs 1 front camber kit and 1 rear camber kit

340/330 mm needs I front camber kit and 2 rear camber kits

:) cheers :woot:
