You are as bad as me  There is no way you can remotely say that car is stock. It has custom springs on Teins, adjustable arms/bushes and swaybars. It has 2 piece rotors, has Pfc and aftermarket turbos. Its as liek callign your car std, only you have a built engine and he trades that for suspension.

LOL...crazy Victorians, i think all the BS comign from my posts is polluting your mind... If his GTR is stock then my car is stock as well, as he has more mods then me :D

...Baron, so...how many baby barons will be running around come easter?

My car is stock :D

the vic GTR may be "standard" but dont forget daves engine has done more kms that I've done japanese race queens. (ie. a lot)... lol 200,000 odd if I remember rightly.

i seriusly had a ball. the best bit was where i was behind the black gtr with a single. it was sooo cool to see to angry tough looking 32's menacing there way through the field. i just didnt have enough power on the straight.

the funny thing is im not a great driver and have alot to learn (i still need to get my cams licence lol) and my fastest lap was the second session i was running in on the second lap still warming up the tyres, just taking it relativly easy and taking the lines properly i think. not just nailing it everywherre and driving like its stolen lol.

anyway it was a great time and it was good to see all you out there

and special thanks to steve and sean and norm for pulling together and doing some full sik overnight parts  .

oh and just for you guys curiouse of how to make an old 26 live on the track:

i needed 2.2 litres extra oil in the sump to get rid of the oil surge i was getting.. (thank f**k for a good quick reponce oil pressure guage :P)

NSW FTW

PS. with the slicks to run at a hot 30psi cold pressues are around 17-18psi :)

oh and anna :P for putting up with the 25kph speed we did on the freeway for 80 odd kms after my cdi dropped 2 channels and was running on 2 cylinders.

and liz and bunts for keeping us company while i rent rank with a can of wd40 at the servo in a mad atempt to fix it lol.

You do know the V35's oil patch on the braking point on the back straight caused major dramas?

I came off hard there and scratched a rim, the WRX went into the Marshalls booth, the Clio almost hit the wall and the MX-5 and EVO slid into pitt lane!!!

All in a row, like dominos!!!

My GT-R still isn't sorted, so laggy but was doing 1.11's.

It wasnt quite in a row! The WRX was after me and I managed to avoid the carnage,I think I took note of the fact that cars were spearing off everywhere and she didnt! (Either that or I was so far off the racing line I never hit the oil lol)

the hicas is working as it should, it's just I don't like the feel of it anymore, it's unsettling, I couldn't tell if I was loosing traction or the Hicas kicking in, but I managed and it was fun nonetheless.........U SHOULD'VE ALL BEEN THERE, it was FUN FUN FUN!!!!!!!!!!!

Who cares if it is HICAS or lack of traction just keep it planted :D

(PS seriously dissapointed by the lack of skids onto the straight people :nyaanyaa: )

    • The new project has arrived. I have wanted one of these for such a long time, well before that meathead Clarkson drove one in Africa. I really wanted an E34 but I have some medical issues that mean I *really* can't bump my head and the lack of airbags in the E34 made it just too big of a risk.  I don't know why I've always liked these older touring BMW's to be honest, but man I love this car. She's been pretty well maintained for her 243k's with what appears to be only a single oil leak at the oil filter housing gasket. It has a bunch of updates including later model bumper and headlights, 7 series billion-way adjustable seats and it came with a few spares and another set of wheels with legal tyres. I got a unregistered car permit from the RTA and drove it back from Canberra on Saturday.                   First cab off the rank is cleaning it up for blue slip. I dont know how picky they'll be but I figured I'd clean the headlights, fix the oil filter housing gasket, replace the speed sensors (throwing errors) and swap the OE wheels (the M Sport wheels have a big chunk out of one of the tyres.) I also need to replace all 6 gas struts - 2 for bonnet, 2 for hatch and 2 for hatch glass. The car tries to eat me whenever i open any of these. My plan for this car; Ultimately, this is a budget car. I can't afford to throw lots at it and its because I have another car that I got this, if something breaks its no big deal. I will just maintain and repair it really. But eventually I want to do a manual conversion. It actually looks pretty straight forward for E39's and the trickiest part will be sourcing the parts.  I do need to replace some suspension arms or bushes because wow, she's a floaty old girl. She's also fantastically slow. Like really, really slow. When pulling back out on to the freeway on Sat after a quick pull over I needed to wait until no cars were visible before going.  Oh, and the guy I bought it from had a gorgeous R31 GTS-X in the garage.
    • Do you have a picture? I assume it is a breather for gearbox oil as it expands, it should have a vacuum line run nice and high in the engine bay (R32 GTR has it on a top bellhousing bolt)
    • Hi all, I am putting an r33 gtst gearbox into a VL and have noticed what looks like a vacuum barb on the box (on top in the middle). Suspecting that it's a vacuum line but I'd like to double check, if someone could confirm the function of that would be great. Cheers in advance.
    • I’d love to find some where that can recover the dashes to look brand new and original. Mine has a very slight bubble, nothing compared to some I’ve seen though
    • $170K. I asked one of the guys there as a joke if that price was just for the passenger seat as it was where the price sheet was... he tried really hard to crack a smile 😄 He also mentioned that every single part of the car was inspected and either restored or replaced with a new or as new part, or made from scratch. The interior was incredible, every inch like a new car.
