Help! Power Steering Gone!

Hi all,

I need some urgent advise. I have almost no steer response when I turn the steering wheel.

I have just got my A31 engine swapped to RB20DET. What's wrong? Could it be due to faulty power steering pump or steering rack or others???

Please help!!! Thank you very much folks!

mine only half works at the best of times. steering isn't too heavy, but once the car is warm, or it's a fairly warm day, the steering is light as a feather. much lighter than other ceffies i've been in that had fully functional power steering.

must agree with a31rb25, mine is starting to feel like no power steering on a cold start, then when warm everything is fine :S

Hi All!

Thanks for all your response/feedback. I had the steering checked out by my mech. Turns out the steering rack was faulty. So I had the mech replaced it..

Everything is back to normal now, except for some clicking/ticking sound coming from the left front side of the car each time I turn the wheel. FYI, alignment was carried out immediately after my mech replaced the faulty steering rack. AAARRRG!
