Spark Plug Issues

I was doing a service on the stagea yesterday which included changing the spark plugs.

I removed the first spark plug and when installing the new one it felt hard to screw in so I pulled the plug out and tried another plug and had the same problem.

I didnt try and force the plug all the way but I did turn it a few times but it was too tight.

I spoke to a mechanic and he recommended that I get a spark plug re-threader (tap and dye??) and try and fix it.

Ive never done this before.

Has anyone been in the same situation or can anyone with experience give me some help?

I never thought changing a set of plugs would be such a hassle

It easy as to re-thread , but all the metal files are going to fall inside your engine

Not if you coat the cutter with a bit of grease first.

yeh, I was advised to coat it with copper grease. Sound right?

yeah just coat it with grease then run the 3 cutters through it dont just screw it in , screw it in abit then back it off , u shouldn`t have to use much force (have u got the 3 cutters with different tapers

Go to a good tool shop , magnet mart and place like that don`t have good tools

And make sure nothing falls in your block , copper grease full of metal files wont do it any good
